Re: Target Media Prices November 1-7, 2009

picked up 24: S7 DVD.

Also saw the 24: S1/S2 DVD combo pack, which was $29.99. That was amusing.

Anybody try pricematching the $12.99 price for 24: S1 on the SE release with the metallic cover at Best Buy?

This sale is good enough for BF. I'm guessing that this kind of the thing will continue sporadically throughout the month, culminating on BF itself.
Hm. I just picked up Scrubs 1/2 and Arrested Development 3 and Greek wasn't on sale at that store (or at least there wasn't a sign indicating that it was), but it was regular $29.99.

Well the one Simpsons Season 12 head box was still there and I was able to price match it after the guy attempted to see if it was in stock by going to the Target website and not even seeing it. I wasn't going to try and push it if I did not get it, but since I did thank you random Best Buy employee!

Still waiting on an Amazon price match. Or else I head to Best Buy for a price match because lord knows, Target probably sold out in ten minutes.

Went to Bestbuy looking for Firefly, and price matched 24 S6 and 7, and Simpsons S12 no problem. Cashier had to call over manager to override. I had 3 ten dollar reward zone GC's, so they came out to 2.99 each, The cashier said I was robbing them

If your Target is sold out of any of the sets, just get a rain check. Or just grab an ad while at Target and price match at Best Buy or Walmart. There's no reason for anyone to not get their dvd.

I picked up The Simpsons S.12 and every disc was scratched. Thanks again shitty packaging!

I know this is the Target post but since many people are getting The Simpsons Season 12, you might want to know that Bestbuy has Seasons 1-10 for $12.99 each

Re: Target Media Prices November 1-7, 2009

Got up early to go to target and get the simpsons season 12. I figured since they have the head packaging in the ad they'd be stock with that... and at least have one copy....wrong! When I saw they only had the regular package I decided to ask this woman for help ( to see if there was any in the back). Long story short - she was a pretty funny lady. She looked and it said they had 3 in their system. But it was all normal packaging. I showed her the ad and how it was different. She was like.... Oh WOW! $12.99 that's pretty good huh? Hmmm I see the package is different.. (she turns to me & says) That's false advertising! Ya know you should really do something about that!.. lol I said I KNOW! *Finally a sales employee that understands me & relates!!*
Anyway I had a laugh and said thanks but I'll try another target. Tried another target - they only had the regulars too. So I went to BB and found my Comic book guy head. (They only had 2) And thankfully got another nice lady who didn't give me any problems. Overall it was an interesting hunt and I enjoyed the shopping. Got a pretty good deal. It felt like a mini Black Friday preview sale. But with less crazy people & no mobs. Thanks for posting the ad.

I've only looked @ my disc 1 but it's scratched too. When will they learn?

I got home last night and saw that Family Guy S7 was full screen. Was it released in widescreen at all?

Went to 2 Targets and they had nothing. Couldn't even find the ads there, so I got a raincheck for Simpsons 12 and Family Guy 7.

Which makes no sense because "going greener" on sets only means something if you're eventually going to throw them away.

Oil is needed to make the plastic cases.

Right. And if we're getting all these scratched discs because of this "greener" packaging, it's only going to result in more plastic being used for replacement discs.

So true. Reminds me how I heard that the total energy expended to generate the electricity to recharge an electric car is at least as much as to produce and refine the equivalent amount of gasoline. I heard a similar thing about Ethanol vs. gasoline. Now onto more important things than the environment or politics... DVDs!

When I picked up Simpsons S12 and 24 S7 at Target, there was only 1 left of each afterwards. Today I went to Target again (for non-DVDs) and the shelves were bare. I don't think my Target got in very many copies (which is typical of them). But when I think about how bad inventory is at my Target, it's a wonderland compared to my Walmart which doesn't even carry either of these. I guess the latest seasons of "unpopular" series like Simpsons or 24 are already "too old" to be carried by my Walmart.

Re: Target Media Prices November 1-7, 2009

I got the 2-packs of That 70's Show Season 3/4 and 5/6. When I picked up the 5/6 package, it sounded loose. I checked the other two on the shelf and it was the same thing. I figured I would take a chance. I didn't realize until I got to the car that season 5 and 6 were released in single disc case width 4-disc cases! No wonder they were moving around.

I saw that Season 7 was $18.99, but I'll wait until it goes on sale for $10. It's the only season I need. I don't plan on getting the last two seasons which is when Eric was gone.

They had Golden Girls Season 1 and 2 in a 2-pack for $24.99. I remember the individual seasons were on sale a couple of months ago for $9 each so I'll wait until that happens again before picking them up.

oh, okay. i guess i never noticed that before, i'm just used to seeing most stuff in widescreen i kind of take it for granted. Family Guy S7 just threw me off cuz it said "full screen" across the top of the package on the sticker that seals it, whereas prior sets were boxed.
