Re: Daybreak - Complete Series: $5 at Target

I have the original set.

All the episodes have commentaries (some have two per episode), the set also has behind the scene footage.

The copy I picked up from Walmart has the plastic case. However, the copy of Joe Schmo 2 from Mill Creek was how you described: two paper sleeves.

I got it from Wal-Mart and it's the plastic case, no paper sleeves.

it says 15 commentaries. That's a lot.

Re: Daybreak - Complete Series: $5 at Target

Got the 3-disc TV Commercials set for 5 bucks at Target couple days ago but haven't had time to look at it yet. All discs are dual-layer- sucks that they'd re-compress something that was already released to take up fewer discs; and I'd hoped they'd re-do the Drive-In Classics Vol. 1 set which already crammed 2 movies onto a single layer.

I looked for this set at Target but couldn't find it.

Is it in with all the other TV series sets or somewhere else?

My Target had them in the same area as the two-fer TV season sets, but along the very bottom row just up from the floor.

It doesn't appear that these are too difficult to find. Noticed a Target store I was in earlier in the week had multiple copies. Noticed a few in the WM $5 bin last night. Finally went ahead and picked it up based on the positive reviews here.

Re: Daybreak - Complete Series: $5 at Target

I have noticed a change in audio quality difference (fidelity and volume) between the 1st episode, the 2nd episode, and the 3rd episode... I'm hooked though... many twists and turns... with partial reveals.. really enjoying this...

Thanks for the heads up on this. I discovered the show when TV One aired reruns. It was good show. It sucks that ABC canned it. I will check Target tomorrow or on Friday.

Seemed a little rushed near the end of the series.. but all is revealed... (maybe it seemed rushed since i watched 5 straight episodes to finish it last night..)

Re: Daybreak - Complete Series: $5 at Target

This is a GREAT series!! I wish they would do more shows as limited series like this - 13 episodes, full arc, and done. I highly recommend this show to everyone! I blew threw the whole thing in 3 days.

Re: Daybreak - Complete Series: $5 at Target

Was in WalMart last night but the $5 dump bin was trashed and I didn't feel like digging. Loked in the aisles to no luck. Guess I'll check next time I'm there.

Re: Daybreak - Complete Series: $5 at Target

I finally saw the Daybreak package at Target vs. Walmart. To make sure I'm clear... the thicker Target one is the one that has the discs in sleeves whereas the thinner Walmart one is a normal 2-disc case. Correct?

I suppose for $5 I'll watch the series even though it's only DD2.0 and highly compressed. If I like it as much as everyone says then at least I'll know to grab it if I ever see it on Blu-Ray at a good price. Seriously, though, whoever dropped the 5.1 sound tracks and compressed the video in order to keep all the commentaries has his or her priorities way out of whack! I would've dropped all the extras rather than sacrifice picture or sound quality.

Re: Daybreak - Complete Series: $5 at Target

stopped by Target last night and managed to snag a copy for $5. They had 2 left. If anyone hasn't had any luck, then let me know and I'll stop back over there when I get the chance over the next couple of days.

I haven't opened mine up yet, but like others have said it comes in what looks like a double DVD case. It does sound like the discs may be loose, but that could just be the packaging.

Either way, looking forward to watching it in the near future.

Re: Daybreak - Complete Series: $5 at Target

I also finally got this set. And it does sound like they are loose.

Don't know if this has been mentioned or not, but when I was there, I saw a sign that said they were substituting Dexter Season 3 for 24: Season 7 for $11.39.

Had to go to Target for an Rx Refill, so I looked for Daybreak and found 4 copies on the shelf! Bought one and opened it up.....mine are in the paper sleeves as well.

/\ I think I'm going to hold out for the version at Walmart, if I see it. I'm interested in checking it out, but the packaging of the Target version isn't exactly inspiring a lot of confidence in me.

Re: Daybreak - Complete Series: $5 at Target

I got the paper sleeves version at Walmart... Then later I found the slim case.. but not going to double dip... If I found the original release (w/ 5.1 and less video compression) for $5, that might be worth double dipping...

Got the slim case at the Walmart dump bin. There were a few left at the Northborough, MA Walmart.
