If I recall correctly, the UPC between the original, recalled release is different from the secondary, corrected version.

If you do a thread search on just Ultimate Supermanin the TALK Forum, you should pull up the thread which listed both UPC codes.

You might have missed the best price of $10-12 for sure but the current price of $19.76 is still quite a deal for a 14 disc OOP collection of films with an original list price of $99.98. Not bad at all!

EDIT: Wait... there are two editions on Amazon, one from 2006 and one from 2007, and the latter is not OOP. What's the difference? I can't imagine they would list a corrected version as a completely new release?

Ugh, based on that UPC info, mine was the recalled edition, however I just called Warners @ 800-553-6937 and they are sending me out the corrected discs (and a prepaid envelope to mail back the defective ones), so all is well! Thanks for the info LASERMOVIES.

By the time I went there to buy one, the price was up in the $16 range, but I clicked on the "used" section and got it for $7.99!! Best part - even though it was listed under used (dont know why) it stated "brand new/sealed". SCORE!

I just ordered one from newbury comics in the new section for $12 + S&H. It'll be worth it just for the Richard Donner cut.

Thanks for the heads up OP. I placed an order for $15.97 shipped. ( Cannot pass on 14 disc oop set for that price ) If I get the recall version then I will call Warner and ask for corrected discs just like TallGuyMe did.

the $99.98 set on their site is the corrected 2007 version....from what i understand the set on Amazon Marketplace is the original 2006 version with the wrong discs but i still ordered a copy and am glad to hear Warner is still replacing the discs for free

Mine arrived from Newbury Comics yesterday.

I received the recalled edition.

There were a few minor dings in the tin case, but for $10 I really can't complain.

A few weeks ago I ordered Blink-182: The Urethra Chronicles Vol 2 and they sent me Blink-182:The Urethra Chronicles Vol 1. However when I emailed them, they refunded me my money, and haven't asked for me to send the DVD back yet so I guess I got it for free, however I still would not order from them again.

GOHASTINGS makes mistakes but they handle them quickly and responsibly. I have ordered alot of product from them and no mistakes yet. I highly recommend them.

So let's be clear: you were sent the wrong item, emailed them, got your money back AND got to keep the wrong item? I would think that would be a recommendation to buy from them and not a warning since they handled their mistake so well!

Now if you had many orders with many mistakes from them, I might be cautious. But it sounds like they did the right thing and then some.

Just a head's up. I received my set in the mail today. My UPC was the recalled version above. I popped in Superman III and to my surprise the disc was the deluxe edition w/ special features. Haven't checked the soundtrack to part 1 yet but just anted let people know that apparently some corrected sets are out there with the old UPC.

^ No, apparently they don't. Mine arrived today from Newbury and there's not tracking # on Amazon.

I was a little disappointed that the case was dinged in a few places, but for $10 I'm not going to complain.

Just got mine in the mail today from Newbury - it was the recalled SKU (haven't tested the Superman III disc yet), but it's in MINT condition - not a ding or a dent anywhere!
