No luck at my Wal Mart for any $5 titles for halloween, just the $7.50-13 endcap. hopefully soon they get them. Also FYE and Target had nothing going on

Has anybody found the $5.00 horror movies in Columbus, Ohio? I checked 3 stores on the northwest side yesterday and none had 'em. I'm dying to pick up "Happy Birthday to Me".

Re: halloween/scary/Horror movie deals yet?

Rohnert Park, CA WM has their $5/7.50 Halloween Movies put up but there were no copies of Happy Birthday To Me

There was an actual shelf label for it but no DVD's.

I did pick up Prom Night II: Hello Mary Lou and Amityville Horror (Double Feature/Remake) for $5 a piece though.

Re: halloween/scary/Horror movie deals yet?

Tuesday is probably the better day but I'm going for a quick peek tomorrow.

Even though vault of horror is heavily edited, it's still a good deal just for tales from the crypt.

Re: halloween/scary/Horror movie deals yet?

VAULT OF HORROR edits:

In the vampire story, a brief bit of action has been replaced with a still, which itself is edited (partially blacked out). In the Terry-Thomas story, the shot of a murder freezes the image (which doesn't really affect the scene), and a pan down past some shelves is abbreviated (which steps on a joke).

Fox said the print they used was the most complete they could find.

i am totally new to amicus, but I want to pick some up, I am sure thier films are great for fans of the tales from the crypt tv series, same kind of twisted humor, but with amicus, more of a british humor, like a really dark monty python. I see that amicus put out alot of these movies of short films in the 70s. went to 2 walmarts tonight, and couldnt find the double feature, but, i saw a triple feature of amicus films on amazon for $12.99 that I am thinking of picking up that has Asylum / And Now The Screaming Starts / and The Beast Must Die. I see most of the amicus films have alot of the same stars in them from the hammer films, like peter cushing and christopher lee. I already own the warner 4 pack of christopher lee dracula films and enjoy them very much

I bought that 3 dvd set recently but I've seen the films before that. Not too crazy about Beast Must Die, but like the other two. 12.99 is a good price for it. They did a lot of anthology movies like tales from the crypt, vault of horror, asylum, house that dripped blood, torture garden, etc. and yep Lee, Cushing, Ingrid Pitt, others who appear in hammer movies also appear in them.

The third British studio behind those two would be tigon who did blood on satans claw, witchfinders general, creeping flesh, etc.

Saw a display of about 15 titles at Ralphs today, didn't take note of the titles, was sure someone here would have already mentioned it.

$5.99 each.

Re: halloween/scary/Horror movie deals yet?

My Walgreens has some public domain horror double features, it's the same series that Target had about 5 years ago, but they are packaged in nice slim cases instead of cardboard. They didn't have the price on them yet but I'm assuming they're $1.

Chills Double Feature
- Dead Men Walk (1943)
- The Monster Maker (1944)

The Cry of Fear Double Feature
- Nightmare Castle (1965)
- Beast from Haunted Cave (1959)

Monsters and Madmen Double Feature
- The Brain That Wouldn't Die (1962)
- The Beast of Yucca Flats (1961)

Nightmares Double Feature
- Bloodlust! (1961)
- Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street (1936)

Tales of the Undead Double Feature
- Atom Age Vampire (1960)
- Revolt of the Zombies (1936)

Threshold of Terror Double Feature
- Bluebeard (1944)
- House on Haunted Hill (1959)

Re: halloween/scary/Horror movie deals yet?

Eldersburg, MD wal mart has set out most of the $5 horror titles including Happy Birthday To Me, which I picked up. I don't remember most of the $5 titles but a notable one was Halloween 4/5 double feature.

I know it was sort of talked about in this thread, but here are some of the $5 Walmart titles I remember:

Happy Birthday To Me (New AB version)
Texas Chainsaw Massacre (Dark Sky/Steelbook)
Halloween 4/5 (Double Feature)
Prom Night II: Hello Mary Lou (MGM)
Amityville Horror (1979)/(2005) *Double Feature*
The Eye (Remake/WS & FS)
Lake Placid
Fright Night

Re: halloween/scary/Horror movie deals yet?

Thanks a lot!^^ I have been wanting to pick up Halloween 4/5. I have 4, but it is just the Anchor Bay Limited Edition Tin. Nice to see they are both the Divimax editions as well.

I bought Carrie and Return of the Living Dead the other night from Wal-Mart. Both $7.50 and came with lenticulars.

In mine its on the shelves in a seperate section marked "bargain" with all the other $5 titles being mentioned. They were toward the back of the catalog titles.

sorry when I say the "other $5" titles I meant Happy Birthday To Me, Halloween 4/5, Wolf Creek etc... the stuff that has just started being spotted the last 3 days or so. Not to be confused with the $7.50-13 titles like Return of the Living Dead, Carrie etc...
