Multiple coupons should be a no. However the 10% off discount can be applied to almost all purchases with a few exceptions. See this LINK for additional details. It sounds like you ran into someone who didn't know what they were doing...

I had the 30% off used DVD and the $5 off $35. I had several DVDs so I told him to do separate transactions. He didn't have a problem with that. When I gave him the Backstage Pass Card, he told me it was either the coupon or the 10% discount. I told him that I thought I could use both at the same time and he said that was not possible. Since I wanted the stuff (mostly OOP DVDs) I said whatever and bought the stuff which whatever came out to be the better deal (coupon or 10% dicount). I'm still on the trial basis for the VIP and I'm going to call them and cancel the card tomorrow. If they ask why, I'll tell them that is too expensive ($11.99 a month, reallly?!?) and that the clerk misinformation caused me to spend more that I expected.

I've never had a problem using my Backstage Pass and an FYE coupon. The only time they refused a coupon was after price matching Target.

You get them in the booklet when you sign up for your trial. Usually that one plus a $5 off $35. It used to be 40% off used CD/DVD/BD and I had one laying around that I used earlier in the week on my birthday so that I got first 20% off and then 40% off.

That guy is an idiot, because the coupons are FOR BACKSTAGE PASS MEMBERS ONLY. They scan your card, it takes 10% off, and then they enter in the coupon information, and it takes that discount off. Just go back in again.

Regular: $25 annual = 10% off all the time & 20% on Birthday

VIP: $9.99/mo = same as $25 plan + you get discounts other places

the advantage of the VIP is 1st month free and $25 gift card. This is better of course as long as you cancel before getting your first 9.99 charge.

Nope. I canceled before the end of the 1st month and still received the card. As has other members of this board. Maybe they changed it since last fall.

It looks like a typo on the dates of the coupon as it has a different URL than the previous coupon. I guess your success rate may vary.

I noticed that too. I seriously doubt the store will accept it with those dates.

I used it last night to get Blazing Saddles on BD for $6 + tax. I explained to the guy in advance that it had expired dates but that I received it just this week and asked him if he could check it to see if it was still active. He said it wasn't a big deal and rang it up minus the $3. He may have given it to me because I'm a regular and everyone that works there knows me now. It's less than a mile from my house so I stop in 3 times a week to browse the BD deals and used CDs and DVDs.

Can you combine coupons? Reason I ask is because I joined with a view to cancelling within the first month and still have the coupons they give you when you sign up.

I think there is a 30% in there and wondered if it would work with any of the $$ off coupons
