Re: TWEC (FYE, Suncoast) In-Store Backstage Pass Coupons Thread
Went to FYE and found a still-sealed "used" copy of the Bourne Trilogy on Blu-ray. It was marked at $71.99, and rang up at $59.99. The 40% off a used item coupon brought it down to $35.99, my Backstage Pass 10% discount brought it down to $32.39, and had I signed up for a 30-day trial of their "new" Backstage Pass club and got a free $20 gift card for doing so (which just arrived in the mail on Friday), so I got the trilogy, brand new, for $14.33 including tax.

For those with FYE's going through the closing sale, mine's up to 40% off & an employee hinted that it will go higher. If it hits 50 off, I may spring for a Beatles mono box.

I'm not sure exactly, although I know they sell it as including a concierge service, restaurant discounts, discounts at other stores, etc. I only signed up for it for the free gift card. It's a separate program from the standard BSP program though, which I paid for once, and due to a computer glitch that said it expired back in 1923 or something like that, has never ended up expiring.

VIP Backstage Pass club costs $10/month after free month trial.. so as everyone else, I only signed up to get my initial 10% off (later buying a regular BSP)... and then received the $20 gift card a few months later, which was very timely for a purchase with 40% off coupon...

Using all of these different coupons will eventually pay off the cost of the membership fee. As it is, you get 10% off every single time, even on sale items. And if I'm not mistaken, these 40% off coupons tack on to your usual 10% off making your purchases half off. At least that has been the case with my FYE.

That has been my experience as well (I usually have them scan my card and then give them the coupon). The 10% off also stacks with other promotions, such as buy 3 get 1 free on used.

$10 - $4 (40% coupon) = $6.00 - $.60 (10% BSP) = $5.40.
Doesn't quite work out to be half off, but still a good deal.
If I'm wrong, someone feel free to correct me. I don't have a recent receipt on hand to verify this.

When I bought the Bourne Trilogy on Blu-ray, as described above, they took the 10% off first, and then the 40% off of that price, which was 90% of the original price. Works out to be exactly the same as you described it, cardsfan, just verifying the order. So you can use both, but they don't quite work the way lanemyer thinks.

Oops, sorry for the confusion there, guys. I knew it was discounted more than what the coupon was offering. Just never really looked to see in what order it was all applied.

No. You have to fill out a card to be mailed...then you wait about 3 months and then you get the $20 gift card.

That's annoying but I guess it's worth it to essentially get $20 of the $25 back in the long-run. This weekend I'm going to go trade some stuff in so I'll probably sign up for the Backstage Pass then.
