I thought that Pete's Dragon said "High Definition" across the bottom at first.

Re: Target Media Prices August 16 - 22

I'm in no rush to get Gossip Girl Season 2. I waited a few extra months for season 1 and snagged it at Target for $17.99.

Greek is technically not season 3. It's actually season 2 Part 1 (or Chapter 3). The 2nd half of season 2 (or Chapter 4 when it comes on DVD) just completed airing this past Spring. Buena Vista does some really confusing labeling with their ABC Family shows on DVD.

Definitly, Maybe for $10 is not bad, Ryan Reynolds = everything good about movies, but 34.99 for Sons of Anarchy? are you kidding me? I will just wait

and really horrible release schedules. It baffles me how horribly they treat one of their biggest earners by releasing the DVD sets so slowly. On Tuesday they are releasing Chapter 3 on DVD, while Chapter 5 starts airing a couple weeks later. Why not catch up the series already?

I find it funny that WalMart has selling the first three Fast and Furious BD's for $19.99 as there normal price for at least a month or two now.

It's definitely just you. You think Target is worried about competing with Big Lots?

Actually, my comment was directed at Warner Home Video and the current state of the DVD business model

OK, but I guess I still don't understand what you are saying. (Is it just that WB is trying to dump stock?)

Re: Target Media Prices August 16 - 22

I will be picking up SoA and Dexter on blu depending on Best Buy's pricing.

I will also pick up season five of Angel on the off chance that it is the thicker packaging and not the DVD case-size packaging. I have every other season of both Buffy and Angel in the thicker packing with three slim cases tucked inside. It just looks odd on the shelf. = /

Well since it seems like it's impossible to tell which version it is from the picture, another option might be to buy the thicker packaged one at Best Buy and price match it against Target's ad. If that works and you do the 110% pricematch (buy it first and then take the receipt to the customer service desk to pricematch) then you're looking at the %th season of Angel for $8.30 plus tax. (The large packaging Angel sets are $59.99 on Bestbuy.com, so 10% of the difference would be $4.70) It's probably YMMV on pricematching the larger set against the ad (which is probably advertising the smaller set) but the worst thing that can happen is they could deny the pricematch and you can return the DVD.

Hm, you're right. It is hard to tell which packaging is being advertised. I should have no problem PM'ing it at Best Buy. Thanks for the idea Disneyboy!
