Re: Alias Season Sets $12.99 each at Target
I live in Northern Nevada. I was actually going to pass on Golden Girls seeing as it's literally on 24 hours a day in my market and I watch it all the time. However, I realized that each episode was going to have 5-6 minutes of content I've never seen. At 22+ episodes a season, that's a lot of new material. Now I can pick through my favorite episodes and watch them in their non-syndicated state.

Yes, really, The Golden Girls. In case you aren't aware, people are allowed to enjoy whatever they want to enjoy! Turns out, The Golden Girls is a hilarious show, with some of the best comedy ever written, with top notch delivery by the wittiest ladies to grace television screens! There is a reason that The Golden Girls remains so popular, long after the show ended. If you can't enjoy such a classic, witty, hilarious show with one of the greatest casts ever assembled, that's fine, just don't judge against those who do enjoy it!

I admit it was an exaggeration, but aside from Norman Lear's stuff (Maude, All in the Family, Mary Hartman, etc) & MASH, I have a hard time remembering many adult-oriented sitcoms. Even The Mary Tyler Moore Show was bland sitcom fluff for the first couple of seasons.

Went today and saw most were sold out, but I did get to pick up Seasons One and Three of Alias. I wanted to finish off my collection of GG sets, but they only had the final season and I needed the first one since I loaned it out and never got it back.

Re: Alias Season Sets $12.99 each at Target
When I originally bought 1-5 earlier in the week my season 1 was the old style 'big' box set, so I decided to hit a different Target to see if I could find a slim version on Saturday. Lo and behold I look at the shelf and out of the 5 seasons there is a single copy of season one and everything else had been picked clean.
Also, I finally managed to find season 4 of SNL there in the book style packaging and picked that up as well.
Lucky me.

Re: Alias Season Sets $12.99 each at Target
I would have been happy snagging the "old style" big boxes since I have Season 3 in that style. Managed to find get Seasons 4 and 5 in the slim boxes. Just amazed they could fit 6 discs in these things. Hopefully I can get the first 2 seasons before this sale expires at the end of the month.
Also was fortunate enough to hit a second Target where they had all the seasons of Golden Girls. There were no signs whatsoever as to the "temporary price cut". Scanned them at the price checker and sure enough they were on sale so I picked up all the seasons. Too good of a price to pass up for one of the truly hilarious comedies series ever made.

Empty shelves at my nearest Target, which is 35 miles away for me. The shelf tags showed a price of $19.99. Great show, but not worth repetitive trips to try to score considering I already have TV rips. Reminds me of trying to score advertised DVDs on sale at K-Mart, you show up the first day of the sale at opening and nothing. Regardless, thanks to the OP for posting thiis, I would have bought the entire series on DVD at this price.

The store I finally found these did not have the price drop sale cards in front of them. Every Target that had the signs up seemed to be either picked clean or had only one or two copies left.

After the third visit, my Target finally had these. I planned on picking up S1 & 2, but somehow talked myself out of it.

A lot of stores appear to have no sale tags on these, which was a good thing or the two copies of each season would have been sold out.

Re: Alias Season Sets $12.99 each at Target
Is only Angel Season 5 available in the slim set? It would almost be worth the extra $25 or so I'd lose selling my thicker sets to replace them with the single-casers, but all my Target has is season 5 of Angel.
I'd also re-buy 2-5 of Buffy. I sold the Chosen box because I hadn't watched it in 5 years (and I hated season 7 so very much) but I have been wanting to rewatch the good seasons.

Re: Alias Season Sets $12.99 each at Target
Nope, all 5 seasons of Angel and 7 seasons of Buffy are available as the slim versions. I'm sure this differs depending on store, but my Target had a endcap shelf that was nowhere near electronics (it was back near the toy department, for some reason) that had every season of Buffy and Angel in the new slim cases, along with other shows like How I Met Your Mother and That 70's Show, etc. on sale.

Exactly what I was thinking. Was it a coincidence that the two mentioned were the two that have passed away?
But I do think Betty White looks good for 87. Rue McClanahan, though, hasn't been around much, so I couldn't tell you. She seems to pop up as an occasional guest star here and there, though. Betty White, though has been in a few movies (including the recent "The Proposal"), and she played that crazy lady in an episode of "My Name is Earl". I didn't even recognize her the entire episode, though, the way they had her made up.
