Re: Alias Season Sets $12.99 each at Target

Ya know, if you have a BestBuy near you, all you have to do is go to Target and take a picture of the Alias tags with your phone and show it to the CSR to get a pricematch. I even got them to give me 110% making the sets $12.49 ea. Both BestBuy's near me had all 5 seasons of Alias in stock.

Just a tip in case you don't feel like playing roulette with the Target stock checking :-)

You got lucky, that is very YMMV.

The official Best Buy (and any store that pricematches) policy is that it has to be a printed ad, and it has to be in stock at the local competitor.

Worth a shot, but I can't imagine it working more than 5% of the time.

Re: Alias Season Sets $12.99 each at Target

I was lucky enough to find all five seasons at one store. They were marked $19.99, but a quick trip to the red price check machine confirmed that they were indeed $12.99 each.

Got soooo much TV on DVD to watch now that it's not even funny.

Is this show worth a blind buy?

Yes. Defiantly.

I bought S1 as a blind buy. Went through the episodes in 3-4 days. (Can't remember, it was a few years ago).

Ballwin, St. Louis Target: Tags up for the price cuts, but no seasons left of Alias or Golden Girls for any St. Louis people looking to find them.

Re: Alias Season Sets $12.99 each at Target

No Aliases at my Targets; just Alias $12.99 shelf tags and empty space.

Don't know if they sold out of them, or if they don't have any yet.

It's been my experience that Target does an absolute shit job of keeping DVDs and CDs in stock. Their selection always seems picked over, and they usually run out of new releases before the weekends. There are always lots of empty place-holders in the electronics section.

Get them for $12 each at Borders. Here's a coupon that takes 20% off of your total purchase, including items that are already on sale-

http://www.bordersmedia.com/coup/cou...SA_20090811_NR

The coupon expires on August 12.

Yes, that is the policy, but in all my years I've never had a BB actually call a store to check on stock.

As far as the other part of their policy, the printed ad...well they are really liberal about that policy as well. I pricematch at BestBuy several times a week and rarely do I have a printed ad. Historically, I would either print out a competitor's website, like Walmart or Target, CircuitCity (when they were still around) and got a PM no problem. Since I got my Samsung smartphone I can just pull up websites on the phone and show them, and that's the phone I used to take the pictures of the tags at Target. I also took those pictures REALLY close so that you couldn't tell the shelves were empty behind them. I have this experience, probably 10 times a months for years at the 3 Best Buy's in central South Carolina and one in Charleston. All I'm sayin is it might not be YMMV as you may think, give it a shot if you are near a BestBuy.

I went to Borders in hope of using the 20% off coupon but the prices were $30each season. Was there a sale I missed at Borders?

Re: Alias Season Sets $12.99 each at Target

Checked at my local Target in Kissimmee, FL last Saturday and all they had up were the tags for both Alias and Golden Girls; none of the DVD's were in stock. Had to go to the Home Depot next to Target today so I figured I'd stop by and check again; success! They had one of each season for both shows left so I was able to get them all (Golden Girls for my wife, Alias for myself). Can't argue with two complete series for less than $70 each! Also, I'm loving the new slim packaging for the Alias sets so much I re-bought seasons 1-3 (put my old ones up of Half.com to try and get some money back). Anyone had any problems with scratches or anything like that with these types of super slim sets?

Re: Alias Season Sets $12.99 each at Target

Found all 5 seasons of Alias in Fremont, CA. They were all the new slim set packaging which is nice since all 5 seasons match. Slipcovers included.

They also had all the Golden Girls seasons on the shelf.

Re: Alias Season Sets $12.99 each at Target

found only season 1 at my local target (reisterstown/owings mills), which i snapped up. Yes i already own the first season, but years ago i had lent a coworker disc 6 and never got it back, and i figure it actually be cheaper getting the full season again at this price, then going to blockbuster and renting discs 5 and 6 and then buying when the rental period ends. I also lent out the BSG miniseries (actually disc 1 of season 1 and never got it back either.), if anyone has a spare copy, pm or email me

After visiting my 4th Target I said 'To Hell With It' and went to Costco and snatched up all 5 seasons of Alias at $12.99 each.

Re: Alias Season Sets $12.99 each at Target

I wasn't having any luck either and then I found a copy of each season at the Shawnee,KS store that I think was out of them previously. It sounds like stores are putting them out now.

Thanks,
vgc

Re: Alias Season Sets $12.99 each at Target

tried target (san felipe and 610) one more time, and they had about 3 copies for each season. so i grabbed season 3-5. wished they came out with these slim cases when 1 and 2 were orginally released.

thanks for the heads up, everyone.
