not only did I find the writing excellent, but michael rapaport is a great charactor actor, and this show tacked alot of issues that many sitcoms are to timid to touch. I really wish that warner had released the 2nd season as well (it only ran 2 seasons), or why they couldnt have just released it as 1 box with both seasons. I cant believe this big lots thread has become what it is, 7 threads long now, and this latest thread-4 pages in 1 day-unbelievable. I think our "club" here has gotten big enough to start having screening get-togethers in various cities. I personally have a dream of someday having a "cult classics" cinema

Eau Claire WI had a small restock.

Yeah, I can't believe it either... Not sure what city you're in, but I'll come to your cult classics cinema!

Re: Big Lots Part 7 - List your FINDS here (NO trades)

Saw some other people post here from the Dayton area, so thought I'd post my finds from today:

Centerville:
Joey Season 1 ($6) 3 copies left
West Wing Season 2 ($6) quite a few left
Murphy Brown Season 1 ($3) 3 copies left
The Best of the New Scooby-Doo Movies ($6) 6 copies left
Loonie Tunes Movie Collection ($10) 2 copies left

I already had the Murphy Brown, so I just picked up the Scooby Doo set.

True, if it were the Golden Collection sets and not the 2 movie set he mentioned.

I double checked pictures at Amazon to verify which set I saw, but it was the 2 movie collection and not the Golden Collection ones.

Welcome, Dayton, OH area neighbor! The Centerville store ended up being weak for me as far as the $3.00 Hanna-Barbera sets went. I saw a ton of Top Cat there once but not much else. For the stores in my backyard, the Wilmington Pike(got my Jonny Quest etc. there! yay!) and Huber Heights were pretty darn great when I finally hit them at the right time. Probably burned $40.00 in gas driving around searching and searching and searching all week but it was still worth it!

All the stores in my area have dried up, unless you count the five million copies of Joey.

Re: Big Lots Part 7 - List your FINDS here (NO trades)

I'm a teacher, so I've been off all summer, hanging out with my 3 kids while the wife works. This morning we had a technology meeting at school so I was up earlier than I had been the last few months. My oldest daughter (7) said "Where are you going this early?" I started to respond and she said "Oh, never mind. Big Lots."

Hi, my name is Matt, and I'm a Lotsaholic.

The flipside of this is that the head of the social studies department was overjoyed to get the copy of Roots: The Complete Collection I picked up for her.

It is so bizarre that the 2-disc Looney Tunes Movie Collection got priced at $10.00. That's about the same price Amazon and Wal-mart sell it for.

I am about to hit a virgin Big Lots in 40 mins. A new one is opening in Waldorf MD today and I plan on being first in line. I hope they are fully stocked. Wish me luck.

I just returned a nightmares and dreamscapes, but I think I still have 1 more to return. They are $6 at my BL, so it is cheaper to pick one up on amazon

Think where they'd be without our WB DVD $$:

"COLUMBUS, Ohio, Aug. 6 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Big Lots, Inc. (NYSE: BIG) today reported second quarter retail sales for the fiscal quarter ended August 1, 2009 decreased 2.3% to $1,071.2 million, compared to $1,095.9 million for the second quarter of fiscal 2008."

Raynham Mass., They had everything Duel,People Under the stairs/shocker ,Pennies from heaven, wild bunch,a lot of the classic WB .But No Flintstones of course there were a few over middle aged men with carriages loaded with box sets you know the usual suspects Top Cat ,Muttley,Space Ghost ...these boxes are now selling low on Amazon marketplace.
They also had a cardboard stand up with a lot of the Bond movies ,it was almost like they held a shipment every week for the past 2 months knowing this store was opening.
After I went to my usual haunt in West Bridgewater and it was a ghost town the DVD section has never looked so sad.

Also a lot of Animaniacs and Thundercats ..it's funny these sets don't seem to get as much attention now that the HB sets do.

Richmond and Lexington, KY still pretty much cleaned out, but I did find a Smallville S7 BluRay floating around in the Richmond store's bin (probably a customer return).

Ha, you laugh, but I'll hit my first Big Lots since I've been reading these threads on Tuesday (LeMay store, St. Louis) when I return to work (I teach so I've been off all summer and am not that close to a Big Lots) and my entire goal is to find a Joey.

I guess its true what they say, one man's trash is another man's (this would be more effective if I knew the entire quote mind you).

dude, you are killing me. I might have to drive down to Raynahm, I will check your trades posts. Danvers, MA and Lynn, MA nothing new. Methuen, had nothing new yesterday. Thanks for the poster in Portland, ME. I was on vacation and did not bother to check out the store up there, based on their post.

Danvers still has a roots 30th anniversary and a smallville bd s7.
