Futurama Vol. 1-4 $42.99 @ Amazon

http://www.amazon.com/Futurama-Volum...8955604&sr=8-9

Like the title says. Great price @ over 60% off. Too bad I already got all of them.

I wonder if those are in the new single-wide keepcases.

I was thinking the same thing. At least they'll all match if you buy the gift pack.

This doesn't say anything about a "gift pack" though. They could just grab 4 volumes off the shelf at random.

One of the reviews mentioned the 4 volumes being shrinkwrapped together, but I guess they could do that at the warehouse level, too.

Have the keep cases shown up anywhere other than Wal-Mart?

Well, if both packages have the same UPC#, you could always exchange the wider sets at Walmart for the thinner ones.

wondering if I should jump in on this. I have the UK version w/ the pretty cool packaging, but it's big & clunky and I can only play it on my region free player.

Wanna jump on this deal as well but i do not want to end up with the thick packaging versions. I really like the new slim versions since I am running out of shelf room!

How slim are the slim packages? I sold my old Futurama sets because I ran out of room for individual season sets. I was hoping for a consolidated complete-series release, but this might do if they are in fact very slim. Does anyone have pictures of the slim ones? And yes, I understand that the ones Amazon is selling may be the older thick packages.

It should be noted that in the 12PM Gold Box entry, the clue says "More Bender, more Fry" Might be a movie deal today as well.

Hmmm, looks like a Complete Collection is coming out that includes the four volumes and four movies. I'll just wait for that.

Thanks OP
I'm in for a set. I don't care if they are thin packs or not. That's going to make a perfect gift for my son!

Thanks for the tip! Hmm, unfortunately this sort of looks about the same thickness as 8 single-thickness DVDs

Yeah, I held off for the complete collection. I'm sure I'll be able to get that eventually for the same price ($90ish for everything).

Re: Futurama Vol. 1-4 $42.99 @ Amazon

I've been going through my futurama dvds since my amazon sets arrived, and ran across a strange error. When watching the first episode on disc 2 of season 2 the episode is stretched as if to fit a widescreen tv. However, none of the settings on my tv or dvd player are causing this and it only applies to this one episode (at least so far). I've tried the episode on my computer (using vlc player) and the exact same thing happens, so I'm convinced it's the disc.

I'm going to try to contact fox regarding this, but was wondeirng if anyone else has experienced this?

Weird, just tried that myself and it does the same thing in VLC. I can force it to 4x3 in VLC and it looks fine though. Strange bidness...

Mine just came and they melted the plastic slip cover on season 4 when they shrink wrapped the bundle. Now I have to go through the return process.

Same thing happened to mine. I was thinking about doing an exchange.
