FYE $9.99 Bluray sale (YMMV?)

Ive been to 2 different FYE's (in Rockaway, NJ and in the Poconos, PA). and they both had a pretty big bluray sale of $9.99 movies. The lady told me the sale started yesterday (7/5)

Some I can remember are:
Beetlejuice
16 Blocks
Unforgiven
2001 Space Odyssey
The Mask
The Dirty Dozen
Any Given Sunday
TMNT
V for Vendetta
Blow
A Scanner Darkly
Tim Burton's Corpse Bride
Every Which Way But Loose
Pale Rider
Out for Justice
Terminator 2 (old version)
Stargate
Rambo: First blood

if you find more, ill edit this topic and add them to the list. Im not sure, but this could be a YMMV sale.

Re: FYE $9.99 Bluray sale (YMMV?)

FYE, Sam Goody and Suncoast are all part of TransWorld Entertainment Corp (TWEC).

Thanks for the heads up OP, great time to unload more stuff at the brown bag event.

If you don't already have this title on hi-def, I strongly recommend that you head back to FYE and grab it on Blu-ray(especially for just $9.99). Thanks for the heads-up about the sale.

So did we verify if this is chain wide and if so, what titles are included?

Someone else reported the 9.99 price on 2001 in another thread, so it appears to be chainwide...

How much will you be paying for the rental? For $10, it's worth a blind buy. You can always sell it for what you paid for it.

I personally find it to be a terrible movie - more like half movie, half airless acid trip - but I'm in the minority about that (you can diss Jesus and not get the grief dissing Kubrick will bring!) and the HD DVD I have is marvelous. (The BD uses the same transfer.) In fact it's sitting in my HD DVD deck at this moment.

Re: FYE $9.99 Bluray sale (YMMV?)

Grabbed Beetlejuice and 2001!

Didnt see the Mask or else that would have been bought as well.

Add TMNT to the $9.99 list as well.

Lots of titles were less than $20

One of interest was Rock & Rolla for $14.99

Anyone know when this sale ends?

Also add Blow to the list. This is a better deal than the Target thread.

Sounds like all of the Target 11.99 titles are included in FYE's 9.99 sale, plus more...

Nice, if I can find a FYE sometime (traveling right now) I would definitely pick up a few of those.

It didn't appear so. I saw a couple other Kubricks that didn't have any $9.99 tags.

Re: FYE $9.99 Bluray sale (YMMV?)

One other tip: if you buy 3 (or more) titles, buy a gift card then use the gc to pay for the Blu-ray movies. If you buy $30 in gc, they give you a $5 bonus for a purchase made at a later date range. Buy $50 and they give you $10 to use on a purchase made during a later date range.

Just one more way to potentially slice your per-title cost.

Re: FYE $9.99 Bluray sale (YMMV?)

I thought maybe the online prices would be the same. 2001 is cheaper, in an alternate universe kinda way:

Good tip. However, you cannot buy a gift card and use another gift card to pay for it. In other words, you must pay cash for a gift card.

Right. You're still paying the same amount now, but have 'free money' to spend later. The date range on the $10 bonus card I received is 7/13 to 8/9.

Fine Print: "Present this card to the cashier at the time of purchase with your original purchase receipt of $50 or more in gift cards from 6/15/09 to 7/12/09. This bonus card is not valid on special orders, gift cards/coins, or tickets. Not valid with any other offer or on prior purchases. Limit one (1) bonus card per transaction. Photocopies or other mechanical reproductions of this card will not be accepted. This is not a gift card and is not redeemable for cash. No variance from these terms and conditions will be allowed except in those states where legally required."

No Beetlejuice at mine. They have the TINIEST Blu-ray collection I've ever seen, and most of the titles they stock are crap.
