I've been wanting the John Adams miniseries - DD currently has it at $26.89, which is a great price, I'll pick it up along with some catalog titles I've been meaning to get.

The front page shows that DD is now sponsoring a drawing for a pair of gift certificates. I must've missed the memo - since when did DD do gift certificates, and where on their site can you buy them?

I wait for DD's 25% off sales to pick up BBC titles I want. (BBC items always seem overpriced the rest of the time.) This time I think it will be Lovejoy 4 & 5. I'm also gonna pick up a few Star Trek DS9 and Voyager seasons.

Don't forget about amazon.co.uk for BBC titles. Even with the cost of shipping (less than you think) they can be surprising bargains. And you can have them years before they're in the US...if they ever do come to the US.

There is the whole region-free player thing, though.

I was planning to order the Star Trek Trilogy on Blue Ray. It is now at $49.54 and about a week ago it was less. Maybe some in the forum remembers the price. Transformers Blu is at $25.85.

After the 25% discount they will be $37.46 and 19.39 respectively while Amazon has them currently at $29.99 and $18.49.

Yes, Amazon currently has the Star Trek Trilogy for $29.99, which is 55% off the list price. That is a very good discount and it is hard for anyone to go past 55% as a sale price and still maintain some profit. DD will price match Amazon if you want. Usually, I will just go with who has the lowest price instead of price matching. In this case, I would say buy from Amazon or Walmart that has a similar price.

I'm not saying you, but it is interesting the wrath that DD gets sometimes. Many expect them to always have the lowest price and during the sale to be 25% lower then the competitions price. BN and Borders are never even close, but there is good competition between Amazon and DD and this past year I think I have actually bought more from Amazon then DD for the first time. However, even Amazon does not have a sale that includes practically evey title they have. That is what makes this sale unique and for me appreciated.

DD recently was having a sale on most (if not all) of the Star Trek titles. That sale has ended. I don't have the price of the trilogy, but "Star Trek: the Animated Series" was about $18.99 and is now $24.95. The other titles had similar price reductions.

Amazon is currently running a "Sci-Fi Extravaganza" sale of which the ST Trilogy appears to be a part. No expiration date is given so I'd jump now if this is the price you want.

It pays to keep up with various sales and expiration dates.

I wish they would allow you to just place a single order, including any preorders that will come out during the sale and apply the discount to all items.
I have stuff that I want for 7/14, 7/21 and 7/28--would be so convenient if I could just order all at once instead of having to remember to go back each tuesday to order the one item.

I seem to remember last time being able to do this - I'm pretty sure I preordered dvds which were being released during the sale period all in one order.

The coupon code won't work with cds and books but they put a lot of them on sale with a "Megasale" thingy on the product page.

Nope.

It has only been a couple of years since they combined their CDs with DVDs in one store. The first year they had the DVD sale after the combo, they put a number of books and CDs on sale but the coupon codes did not work on these items. The codes never worked at deepdiscountcd.com prior to the merger.
