NYC alert: Kim's (Christopher St) closing -$5.95 used DVDs

The Christopher St location (80 Christopher St between Sheridan Square & Bleeker) is closing down. It's a smallish location, and apparently they have been selling off stock (but at prices we skoff at) - but now all the rental stock has been reduced to $5.95 each. The signs say all new DVDs are 70% off, but there were only about a dozen titles on the shelf, and it's easy to see why nobody wanted 'em!

There still are a lot of titles on the shelves, but it looks as if most of the better-known titles are long gone. I imagine anyone going in there with a wish list in hand will most likely be disappointed, but browsing around most will probably find some things they'd like to have.

I ended up buying 15 things:

Very sad news about Kim's. That was my favorite video store when I used to visit the city.

Picked up these:
Colt 38 Special Squad (NoShame 2 disc Italian)
The Railroad Man (NoShame 2 disc Italian)
A Crude Awakening: The Oil Crash
Velvet Redux Live MCMXCIII (Velvet Underground)

Did see some others that I already have that were great deals...such as:
Black And White In Color (with bonus The Sky Above, The Mud Below)
Devil In The Flesh (must be OP because sellers at Amzon want $50)
etc.
I commented to the clerk that the discs didn't look used and he said "That's why we're going out of business".
