Wal-Mart - $20 BD two-packs & $4 DVDs

I stopped by to pick something up and spotted the following:

$4 DVDs (I know it's obvious, but it also said 5 for $20)

$20 BD two-packs

Italian Job/Shooter
Sum of All Fears/Patriot Games
Cleaer and Present Danger/Hunt for Red October
Sahara/Failure to Launch
Coming to America/Trading Places
Good Luck Chuck/Employee of the Month
Top Gun/Days of Thunder
MI/MI2
Face Off/Next
Stargate/Total Recall
Saw/Saw II
Black Snake Moan/Hustle and Flow
The Decent/The Condemned
Reservoir Dogs/Lord of War
Waiting/Van Wilder
War/First Blood
Payback/We Were Soldiers

Mentioned at HDD:

Spiderwick Chronicles / Nacho Libre
Drillbit Taylor / Norbit
Cloverfield / Sleepy Hollow
Tomb Raider / The Ruins

Sorry for the horrible quality of pictures, but I figured using my cell phone camera to take a few sucky pictures would be better than trying, and failing, to remember everything. There were two other sides to the BD display, but I had to take off. Most were doubles of what is already shown, with just a couple other different two-packs. If I can remember what they were I'll post again.

Brent L,

Thanks for the pictures. The quality was good enough. I had no trouble telling what DVDs were available. It was easier to scan the cover images than read through a list. Who would remember all these titles anyway? (Unless you took pen to paper in the WalMart electronics department.) Appreciate the time you took.

Re: Wal-Mart - $20 BD two-packs & $4 DVDs

Thanks OP! I've already got some of the $4 DVDs from either the $5 bin, or BB $4.99 titles (or lower), but I'm interested in another few...picked up Volver yesterday for $5, not much, plus, I don't think getting it on blu was a big improvement.

I saw the $20 BD combo packs the other day and picked up Italian Job/Shooter. I did not see a $4 shipper though, and I just spent like $6 on a used copy of Once...lame.

If you are a Sam's Club member, they have those same 2 BD packs for $18.48.

Many of us can't see images due to work filters. Could someone type these out please?

Italian Job/Shooter
Sum of All Fears/(Jack Ryan Movie with HF)
Cleaer and Present Danger/Hunt for Red October
Sahara/(Mac Chick Flick)
Coming to America/(Trading Place?)
Good Luck Chuck/(?)
Top Gun/Days of Thunder

I just filled in the "blanks" and edited the OP with the titles of the BD combo packs.

Thanks for the titles everyone, nice work with the blue text Abintra.

I'm in for the Clancy films as blind buys possibly, somehow have avoided all but one of those all my life.

Re: Wal-Mart - $20 BD two-packs & $4 DVDs

Went in to my local WM tonight looking for these deals and discovered that, for the most part, all the Blurays have been pulled from the shelves. There had been a complete BD section taking up an entire side of a row's shelves. One small endcap remains that had 5 BD titles on it. Of course I live in a small town and there are probably a few dozen people here that actually own Bluray players. I never bought a BD there because the prices were always too high.

I was at the West Sacramento, CA, store and nothing yet. Would someone post finding this deal at another Sacramento location if they spot it. Thank you.

Re: Wal-Mart - $20 BD two-packs & $4 DVDs

I went to three Wal-Marts this evening to check out the Wal-Mart $20 BD two-packs. Only one Wal-Mart had the display out, but the only titles were:

Black Snake Moan/Hustle and Flow
Coming to America/Trading Places
Days of Thunder/Top Gun (which I almost bought)

Meh.

I may get Days of Thunder/Top Gun and Waiting/Van Wilder if I can find them. I'll try again this weekend.

Re: Wal-Mart - $20 BD two-packs & $4 DVDs

Something else to note: I received an ad in the mail/newspaper a few days ago with a mention of these 2 deals. The ad seemed to be a "Father's Day" ad...the fine print indicates the event dates are Sunday, June 14 - Saturday June 20. So apparently some stores are just putting the display out early. For those that don't see it, you may want to head back to the store on Sunday.

Re: Wal-Mart - $20 BD two-packs & $4 DVDs

Paramount did a brilliant job in deciding which titles to pair up. I picked up the Hustle & Flow / Black Snake Moan and Hunt For Red October / Clear & Present Danger packs. I may bite on the Coming To America / Trading Places bundle next.
