I just read over at IGN that starting June 16th, Transformers DVDs and Blu-Rays will include about 12 new featurettes. The DVD will bring a code you can enter at some website and the Blu-Ray will include them as BD-Live features.

I bought this movie 10 times in 2007 to get all the exclusives. I can't believe I'm considering buying an 11th copy!

Last night, I promised a friend that I'd let him borrow Transformers today, was sure that I had at least five copies of it at home.

I'm not sure how I did it, but I believe that I somehow ended up with zero copies of this film. I bought maybe eight of the exclusives, but returned some of them, and kept the exclusives of some and gave away the films. I had the HD-DVD but traded it in, had the Blu-ray for $10 but exchanged it for something else.

Maybe I'm getting better, two years ago I would have had been content with having ten copies of this film in my collection, for all the exclusives; but today I'm quite happy knowing that I don't own it at all.

Edit to add: This is obviously no knock on you RD, or any other collector. I still have my obsessions, including exclusives, just sharing a moment.

My favorite type of exclusive is bonus content, so I have to get this. But maybe someone will be nice enough to post the code for the website here. And before anyone says it, I don't consider it "stealing" or "unfair to others" since I did buy the movie 10 TIMES already.

Can someone who has seen the Blu Ray from Target confirm that the exclusive performances are in HD. The BD disc from the UK also has these three tracks but they are in 4x3 according to the review at Amazon UK.

Well, I broke down and bought Transformers again for the online content. Its actually got alot of stuff:

3 Sneak Peeks at ROTF
8 Featurettes
2 Deleted scenes from the first movie
2 Behind-the-scenes Featurettes for ROTF

Unfortunately, if you want to see this you have to buy the DVD (unless you have Blu-Ray). The code for the website is nontransferable.

I really wish they had just put all this on a bonus disc. The code is only good for a year.

I have the Target disc, which is how I was able to post the info I posted. The performances are pillarboxed 4:3 (since the original source was 16mm), but the encode is 1080p.

I came across an unusual "exclusive" today and thought a few people here might want to know. I put the word "exclusive" in quotes because rather than being available solely at one retailer, it is "exclusive" to a selection of indy music stores around the country. I got mine at Vintage Vinyl in Fords, NJ but I know it's also available at J&R Music World in NYC. Here's a link to other locations where this item is available:

Anyway, the exclusive is a DVD of the Twisted Sister live concert appearance on MTV from 1984. It has never been issued on DVD and it's only available with purchase of the 25th anniversary edition of their "Stay Hungry" album, issued today (6/30). Quantities are supposed to be limited to the first day's purchases but I get the impression supplies will last at bit longer. Probably not much, so you've been warned!

Anyway, that's the only exclusive I've come across in awhile. Enjoy.

Thanks for the heads up on this. It sounds like they are separate and will be given out with each purchase instead of bundled. I understand they are trying to support independent retailers but why would you make this a one day offer instead of say, a month, where it would give people a chance to get to the store. The nearest one for me is about 45 - 60 mins away. This is actually encouraging people to bootleg it instead. Just my two cents.

Yes, extra DVD is given away with purchase in a separate plain white disc sleeve. I agree, the one-day thing makes it much harder on collectors than it needs to be. As a fan and completist, I'd have been pissed if I'd learned of this after the fact. Even a "while supplies last" type of deal would seem to be standard in cases like this, which is how exclusives are usually offered at other retailers. Some sell out within hours, some sit for weeks or months (limited by quantity, not time).

As far as you getting one, both Vintage Vinyl and J&R have websites and do mail order. If not them, then maybe one of the others on the list. I haven't checked but I'm inclined to believe many will be offering these DVDs online... er, while supplies last.

Thanks for the suggestions and the info. I used to go to to Vintage Vinyl when I traveled up in North Jersey a lot. I was amazed at the stuff I found there being a metal fan. I'm afraid there won't be a guarantee to get the DVD, but I'll check into it. Thanks again!
