Re: Big Lots Part 4

Has anyone seen Vampire Hunters (2002- asian vampire movie)? It looked interesting but there were enough copies that I could wait to hear some feedback

Re: Big Lots Part 4

i have seen (and bought) vampire hunters. It's actually a homage to the 80's Mr. Vampire flicks, done by Tsui Hark, but without any big name stars.

For me, it was a blast! But then again, I am a huge Tsui Hark fan and will watch practically anything he does, and I am quite fond of the Mr. Vampire original series.

If this doesn't mean anything to you, then it's questionable if you would enjoy it.

Still for $3 to me it's a no brainer...

Same here. Of course, I only bought it for the George Harrison music/connection/collectibility.

Earlier tonight I went into the store that got 550 of the $6.00 used dvd's 2 weeks ago. I was amazed to see that probably 90% of them are sold. I really thought they'd get stuck with many of them.

I've had some pretty good luck finding stuff at my local Big Lots, but maybe its payback time because the DVDs supply is really drying up out here.

I visited both stores today. The Westside store just had old stuff leftover from months ago. The Eastside store looks like it got a dribble of fresh stock, but nothing like all the new titles posted recently. Picked up:

Grizzly Man $2
Meet Bill (bought it for Jessica Alba) $3
Melvin & Howard (anamorphic WS) $2
The Real McCoy (WS) $2

Re: Big Lots Part 4

Walked into my local Big Lots today and saw a brand new (to me at least) display of DVDs to go along with their typically smaller selection. I only picked up:

I Am A Fugitive From a Chain Gang - $3
A Man for All Seasons - $3
The Tommyknockers - $2

Final Fantasy The Spirits Within
Little Women (with book)

and then I found Chances Are. I'm not sure anyone else found this one.

I got
Swimming with Sharks
Shanghai Surprise
Doctor Detroit
High Noon remake
Melvin and Howard
A Good Woman
and I was actually happy to see
Popeye's Voyage: The Quest for Pappy
This reworking of Popeye is pretty enjoyable for this price.

Keep an eye out for this one. It's one of those that Sony re-released FS only. You can still find the OOP WS/FS flipper at some BL.

Re: Big Lots Part 4

Just picked up

Bordello Of Blood
Capote
Arabian Nights (Universal cinema classics)
Chances Are WS/FS flipper ...willing to trade this check out the BL trade thread for my wants.

The BL I just went to had TONS of titles in a double tiered carboard floor unit plus a metal unit with 3 layers of discs ....not so many pre viewed stuff.

They still had some of the WB Noir dvds and quite a few of the Sweet and Lowdown discs. They also had Eating Raoul, Prince of the City, Viva Knieval a lot of these are long gone at my local Big Lots. They also had Body Double which i haven't seen at a BL before (i already own it)
