Re: Big Lots Part 4
I haven't seen anyone mention the 50 Movie Pack sets from Mill Creek which have 50 public domain films on 12 double-sided discs. $9 each. Saw an 80 Pack too. Even if you like only 2 or 3 films in each set, it's probably worth the price. Horrible transfers but some rare movies.

Re: Big Lots Part 4
Definately want to pick up a copy of the looney toons set.
as well as the tales from the crypt seasons. I only own a total of 10 dvds now(as i really only watch High Def for the most part) but at only 3 dollars a set, and the likelyhood that tales from the crypt will never be in hd definately got to pick those up. hopeing that one day they will put the batman the animated series complete set at big lots.

The distribution of the Lakers set is not limited to the west coast. That said, it does seem to be a a little bit rarer than some other sets from my experience. I've been to 9-10 stores in Indiana & Kentucky and found the Lakers set at 1 or 2 of 'em |

But isn't that exactly what FYE is doing?

Re: Big Lots Part 4
For anyone interested, the Season 1 set of "Murphy Brown" contains another of the Warner Bros. 50 Years of TV commemorative discs.
This one is Volume 2 and contains 1 episode of "My Sister Sam" with Pam Dauber, David Naughton and Rebecca Shaeffer along with 1 episode of "Room For Two" with Linda Lavin, Patricia Heaton and Andrew Prine. |

Re: Big Lots Part 4
^ I picked up 2 copies of this - one to keep, one to trade. Noticed when I got home that one of them had a sticker on the front indicating a "bonus" disc was inside. Wonder if it's in copies or just the ones with the sticker on the front?

Re: Big Lots Part 4
wow my big lots selection (clifton NJ) is really terrible, guess it goes to show dvds really cost nothing to make as well considering the prices these are selling at.

I'd love finding a Looney Tunes set as well.. Going to look at 2 Big Lots today for that set as well as Animaniacs Vol 1 and 3 as well as Pinky & The Brain vol 3.

Re: Big Lots Part 4
Thank you so much for posting this. I made a trip to both of these stores last night and picked up the following:
$10 Stanley Kubrick collection (there was still 1 copy left at both locations) Looney Tunes Golden Collection vol. 6 (I bought the only copy I saw) $6 Dukes of Hazzard season 1 and 2 (picked up the only copies of each that I saw, for trading purposes. I didn't recall if anyone had found these) $3 Tales from the Crypt seasons 3, 4, 5, and 6 Adventures of Superman season 2 (George Reeves) Appleseed Ex Machina steelbook Popeye 1933-1938 I also saw the $10 NFL set, the $10 Roots set, most of the $3 Hanna Barbera sets, Lois and Clark seasons 1-3, Tracy Takes On... season 1, Everwood season 1 (I think it was season 1), and the War at Home season 1. I was thrilled to find the Kubrick set as I have been eyeing that for a while. I was going to pick up an NFL set for trade but it is HEAVY -- wasn't sure how much it would cost to ship that one. I will be posting an updated trade list in the Exchange forum so keep checking there. Happy hunting everyone, and thanks to all who are posting their finds! |

Best post of the thread! I thought that WW Complete was an awesome deal but that Looney Tunes Collection is UNREAL. Hitting several big lots today and if I find any extra I'll put them on here for trade. Sadly I don't think I'll find even one... ![]() |

Re: Big Lots Part 4
I really feel stupid for paying $30 for that Popeye set last year.
I made my daily stop at the Midwest City, OK store on the way home from work last night. It was mostly the same stuff as before. They had rearranged everything and maybe put out a few more single DVDs but still no Roots, Wild Bunch, Right Stuff, Big Red One, Popeye, Looney Tunes, or any Blu-Rays or other rarities. |

Re: Big Lots Part 4
Went back to another store today and found Flintstones season 5. The very helpful and nice store manager told me they had Looney Tunes, Super Bowl and Kubrick megasets yesterday morning and I missed them (no Imax that he could recall though). Also said they had all 6 Flintstones, Huckleberry Hound, Top Cat etc. They had a huge restock of Popeye today too. Keep looking folks, there's lots to go around it seems.
Also saw Everwood Season 1 for $3, that was new to me. (oops, I see Infusion07 already listed it) Picked up a Roots box for my mom last night and sure enough it's scratched pretty badly--but most of the time unless they are serious deep scratches they will play fine, so I guess I'll hang onto it. With that shitty packaging $10 should have been the original MSRP. One guy I was talking to said this may be fallout from the Circuit City bankruptcy and that's why we're seeing such insane deals. I hadn't even thought of that... How crazy is it that suddenly $6 season sets don't seem like quite as great a deal now. This is even better than the Camelot laserdisc clearance frenzy. ![]() Last edited by TropicalRobot; 07-16-09 at 10:56 AM. |

Re: Big Lots Part 4
I didn't find anything in my stores, but my friend in CA scored me a bunch of stuff:
Seasons 2-6 of Tales From the Crypt Flintstones S2 and S4 (they saw a S5 but it was opened, so I passed--in hindsight, for 3 bucks I shoulda just got it) Josie and the Pussycats Top Cat Dastardly & Muttley Wacky Races Lois & Clark S3 and S4 Pebbles and bamm bamm Popeye Vol 1 Wonder Woman The complete Collection Super Bowl XXI-XXX 2 of Adventures of Superman Season 2 (one for my Dad) 2 of Adventures of Superman Season 5 & 6 (one for my Dad) I hope to score some of these here still so I don't have to pay for shipping (that box is gonna be HEAVY) but I'm just happy that I'm guaranteed to get that much stuff in case I can't find them here...

Probably not a bad idea to ask the stores you visit and see if any are doing the same. You would have a much better chance to get what you're looking for when everyone else is waiting until 5pm. |
