I just saw The Living Daylights at BL and it was the 2007 version.

I did pick up a copy of Eating Raoul, though. Seems like it would be a riot.[/quote]

It is a riot, a truly off-beat cult classic

I was at the Richmond store today (7/9), so thought you might want to know they finally started putting out the box sets (when I checked last week, they told me they were in the back awaiting the 7/12 ad).

Anyway, there were no ER sets, so I guess you don't have to be in a huge hurry to check Richmond out. For anyone who cares, here's some of what I saw:

Falcon Crest S1 (don't think this one's been mentioned previously)
Six Feet Under S3
Dukes of Hazzard S5, S6
Superfriends volume 2
Scooby Doo Collection
The OC (no idea which season)
Life Goes On S1
Animaniacs
Pinky and the Brain
Joey S1
History of Rock-n-Roll
Nightmares/Dreamscapes
LA Lakers
West Wing (no idea which season)
Nip/Tuck S4
Smallville (one season DVD, one season BR)
Wonder Woman S2, S3, Collection
Roots 30th

Re: Big Lots Part 4

Question about the 'bonus disc' on the Wonder Woman Season 3 sets.

The sets I found don't have the sticker on the outside mentioning the bonus disc, but I thought I heard somwhere that some un-labeled sets still have that disc. Is there any way to tell if a sealed S3 set has the bonus disc enclosed without opening it? There were two sets at the Big Lots in Richmond, and despite all the 'feeling' I could do to both sides of the box, I couldn't feel an obvious 'lump.' Is the bonus disc sandwiched inside the folds of the digipack (i.e. making it virtually undetectable), or should I be able to tell without having to open the wrapper?

Is this for real? Falcon Crest hasn't been released here in America yet--only overseas.

I saw Friends 1, 3, 5 and 8 in Greenville, SC (Farrs Bridge/White Horse Road area). At least two/three copies of each as of yesterday around 5 PM. Was in electronics aisle scattered about.

I got mine years ago, but I don't think you can tell w/o opening it. Big lots return policy is pretty liberal, so I would just go ahead & open it, if its not there, take it back for another.

Elyria Ohio Big Lots today had a huge new Warner shipment. I bought

The bad Seed
Dead Ringer
He knows Youre Alone
They drive By night
Dark Passage

Each dawn I die
Bullets or Ballots

Tons of each as well as at least 3 dozen Scooby Doo Movies Sets. Also saw but already own

Caged Warner camp classics
LAnd of Pharoahs camp classics

All of these were clamshell, not snapper or thincase. Best of luck!

I would say then you're probably right. Knots and Falcon were two shows I never watched back in the day (but was aware of), so probably just mistook one for the other when I was remembering what I saw on the dump table.

Pretty sure it was a season one set.

Re: Big Lots Part 4

Having never even been in a Big Lots before, I had to check out the one nearby since someone mentioned finding seasons of Nip/Tuck and Smallville on Blu-ray in another thread....
Well, one store led to two, then three, finally I ended up visiting every one in the Richmond, VA area yesterday as the hunt for these DVD deals consumed me!

I ended up finding (and buying) all of these box sets:
Smallville S6 & S7 Blu-ray
Joey S1 (now I can buy S2 from Canada and see all those unaired episodes!)
Thundercats S1 V1 & S2 V2
The History Of Rock And Roll
Animaniacs V1 & V2
Pinky And The Brain V1 & V2
Scooby Doo S3
The New Scooby Doo Movies
Superfriends V2
Superfriends: Legendary Super Powers complete series
Wonder Woman complete collection (only $6, WTF?? How they are selling this one at the same price as the individual seasons is beyond me....)

Also bought some $2 animated/childrens titles: a couple animated Alf DVDs for me, a few Care Bears for nostalgia for the wife, and a Clifford for my two year old....

I guess I should check this thread (and these stores) more often now!

PS: Forgot to mention, saw lots of other stuff while I was out there, but I either already own it (like Friends, Dukes Of Hazzard, The OC, and standard def Nip/Tuck), or was not interested in it, even at $6 (like ER, Dallas, West Wing, etc.).....

Re: Big Lots Part 4

I made the circuit of the two local BLs yesterday. The one in north Huntsville didn't have anything, but the lack of DVDs on the floor makes me think that they are preparing to put new stuff out very soon.

But in south Huntsville... success!

I left with:

Wait Till Your Father Gets Home S1 (only copy they had)
The New Scooby-Doo Movies (ditto)
Tracey Takes On S2
Roots 30th Anniversary Edition
Night Court S1

I also saw

Knots Landing S1
Life Goes On S1
Joey S1
Dukes of Hazzard S5
West Wing S2
The O.C. S2
Super Friends V2
Pinky and the Brain V2
Smallville S4
Scooby-Doo Collection (with a Sam's Club Exclusive sticker on front)

and...

Smallville S7 Blu-Ray

I also saw some NBA and Super Bowl DVDs, but not many, and I'm sure there's some more I'm forgetting.

Re: Big Lots Part 4

I usually just lurk here, but wanted to give HUGE thanks to everyone who has been posting updates about these Big Lots box sets. I have found a LOT of great stuff in the past week or so.

I found two titles today that I don't think I have seen mentioned yet:

Superman: The Animated Series, Vol. 1 (I snagged the only copy)

Justice League Double Feature (2 discs) - Secret Origins / Paradise Lost (saw a few of these)

This thread brings back memories of searching through the CAMELOT MUSIC bins for cut-out LaserDiscs. Anyone else old enough to remember?

Re: Big Lots Part 4

No new sets put out today but 5 flats of the $3 titles that have shown up before. I did manage to finally get:

Outland
Pennies From Heaven
Hero at Large

None of which were slashed but some of the assortment were slashed with white stickers over the slash.

One that caught my eye that I had to leave was a John Wayne collection title I hadn't seen mentioned. Tall in the Saddle is what I think it was called.
