Re: Big Lots Part 4

My store got in the Warner batch that has been mentioned here, the first large Warner array I've seen there. Found Right Stuff and Wild Bunch two-discs, but I own them already. These are the first Warner two-discs I've seen at that store. Hopefully this is a sign of things to come, that they will get in the good assortments more frequently.

Ugh, I haven't found a store with seasons yet, only single discs. I really want some of those!

Re: Big Lots Part 4

My store received a pretty big shipment today and the shelves are getting really hard to look through. Lots of stuff mentioned here already though. We just started getting the Bond movies and I'm keeping my fingers crossed for the cartoon seasons to show up soon. There is very little in the way of six dollar dvds though. Picked up the Right Stuff, The Man With Two Brains, Frogs, Casino Royale, Trespass and All The Presidents Men.

Re: Big Lots Part 4

My closest store (Knollwood) says they've received more DVDs, but won't put them on the floor until the current batch is reduced in size.

Re: Big Lots Part 4

Does anyone know whats up with these Thundercats DVDs? I bought a Season One Volume 2. But it only has discs 9 and 10. Then I see that people are finding a Thundercats season 1 volume 1 but its only got discs 1 and 2. I also found a Season 2 volume 2 but that one has 6 discs which is the way it should be. I looked on Amazon but I don't see any releases that just have two discs only 6 discs.

Re: Big Lots Part 4

My local store has a decent selection of DVDs, but no sign of the sets. Doesn't look like they've been there either as the rack didn't look very picked over.

I picked up...

They Were Expendable
The Last Voyage
Born to Kill
Each Dawn I Die
Annie Oakley
God, The Devil and Bob: Complete Series

I'll check back again in a few days. Not sure where they'd put more though. Two sides of the rack are literally overflowing with PC games. They're stacked on top of the four sided display and on the floor by the racks and shoved randomly in with the movies. It's a mess.

Those other releases were made available for a while separately and have slipcovers. Basically they were released to be "cheaper" alternatives to buying it all at once and for collectors who wanted the packaging. It's a total ripoff though, especially at Big Lots where to pick up two discs of a set for $6 as opposed to finding the actual Season sets (divided in two volumes) for $6 is a crazy huge difference in the negative direction of awesomeness.

I myself saw them, but found a copy of Season 1, Volume 1 with all six discs that I'm glad to have spotted. I used to love this show growing up and it's been a long time since I last saw it.

Re: Big Lots Part 4

Picked up the following for $6 each:

Wonder Woman Complete Collection Boxset (Seasons 1 - 3)
ER season 7
Smallville Blu-ray Season 7
Dallas Season 1 & 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8

Total was $60 plus tax.

Also saw many of the other sets that folks have mentioned, including OC, Dukes, Superbowl, Looney Tunes, Roots, Six feet Under, etc.

(Funny thing, they were also selling the individual season sets of Wonder Woman for $6.)

Re: Big Lots Part 4

FYI, check your multi-disc sets ASAP. My Roots set was missing Disc 1. I don't know if it was a fluke, but I was able to easily exchange it for a complete set today.

DeepSleep, I see you're in Oceanside, which Big Lots did you find those at? And did they have any more Wonder Woman complete series sets? Congrats on the finds, BTW.

Re: Big Lots Part 4

Wow, I actually scored some. First 2 BL had nada, but the 3rd paid off. I got:
Thundercats Season 1, Volume 1 with all six discs (had only one)
Scooby Doo 5 movie box set (had only one)
Scooby Doo New Movies (had MANY)
Animaniacs V1 (had MANY)
Pinky & the Brain V1 (had MANY)
I did not see any of the other box sets reported. I'll have to keep looking I guess.

Rob
I used to live in Oceanside. I now live in the evil, nasty, filthy, polluted and crime ridden city of Los Angeles...

The Biglots store I visited had only one Wonder Woman boxset.

When I went to the cash register to pay, the cashier mentioned "oh, you found the boxsets. we just put them out this morning (Tuesday, June 30th.)"

This might indicate that these Warner Bros season sets are just hitting the store shelves now in the greater Los Angeles/Orange County areas?

So keep looking, they might be at a store near you very soon...

Re: Big Lots Part 4

The one I checked last weekend had some of the WB sets, just none that I'm interested in. Guess I'll check back there again, to see if they put any more out. Thanks for the info.

Re: Big Lots Part 4

I asked one of the BL employees today about the box sets. He told me they came in today (June 30th) but he was told they couldn't be put out on the shelves until July 12th. An ad will hit that day promoting the $6 box sets. Maybe some of the stores are just putting them out anyway in advance of the Sunday newspaper ads,
