Re: Wal-Mart Bargains Thread #2

Is it just me or has Walmart finally started to take the dvd/BD section seriously from a variety standpoint? Over the past few weeks I've been to about 6 WMs and I must say the variety has really improved and more quality titles for cheap prices are available. I really hate to give them any credit but I think they are moving in the right direction.

Re: Wal-Mart Bargains Thread #2

It looks like they now have a Big Love Season 1 and 2 set for 19.95 now too, it was sold out at mine, has anyone seen that set? (the single season 1 Big Love set was still in another spot for $20 and the stickers were different) The one by the other 2 season sets said something like BigLoveSS12d FFF which is just like what the Roswell and X-files sets said.

I don't want to open the single season set I bought now, just in case.

I also saw season 3 of the Universe for 19.95, which is the cheapest I've seen that.

Edit: Ok, nevermind, it was Big Valley Season 1 and 2 (BigVl SS12d, not Big LV)

Re: Wal-Mart Bargains Thread #2

Echoing Drew, I am very happy with the additions Wally World has made to their DVD section. I have been eyeing a few of the FOX 2 Season 2 Packs. I want to pick up X-Files Seasons 1 and 2 (I currently only have all 4 Volumes of the Mythology Collection. Also wanted Seasons 1 and 2 of In Living Color but found that 5 dollars cheaper at Target this week.

Eyeing Season 1 of the Sopranos for 19.99.

Also, I havent seen this mentioned, but I noticed From The Earth To The Moon in the $13 rack and hope to afford that one Friday....

So how much is it at Target? I didn't see it mentioned here, so I'm not sure what $5 cheaper would be.

Re: Wal-Mart Bargains Thread #2

Saw both Mission Impossible 1 & 2 on the $5 bin. They also have Casino Royale Special Edition blu-ray for $15.

I agree, Walmart is getting good at movie prices (both SD DVD and blu-ray) lately (as well as Best Buy). Let's hope they continue the trend.

Each.

My copy of the L.A. Confidential SE came with a CD Sampler, making it a 3-disc set. Interesting.

Re: Wal-Mart Bargains Thread #2

Found Some Kind of Wonderful in the $5 bin. This is the "I Love The 80's" version that comes with a four song CD (Lips Like Sugar - Echo & the Bunnymen, Chains of Love - Erasure, Need You Tonight - INXS, and Take On Me - A-ha) plus two mp3 downloads from a list of hundreds of '80's songs.

Re: Wal-Mart Bargains Thread #2

The Batman seasons 1 & 2 are $9 each at the Wal-Mart in Greer, SC. Pretty sure it isn't YMMV though. There were some other superhero television shows on the endcap including Justice League Unlimited season two and all of the volumes of the newer Fantastic Four cartoon. There were also four or five shelf tags for Transformers DVD's, but the shelves were empty. Prices varied from $9-$15 ($20?) on all of the titles on this specific endcap if I'm not mistaken.
