Re: Wal-Mart Bargains Thread #2

Just saw Babylon 5, seasons 1 to 5 for $19.xx each.

They also had all seasons of Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel. All seasons were ~$14, except for Buffy S1/Angel S1, Buffy S2/Buffy S3, and Angel S2/Angel S3 two packs, which were $25 each.

They also had some X-Files sets for $14, though not all nine.

Re: Wal-Mart Bargains Thread #2

My walmart sucks. Never the good stuff others find at their stores. They did, however, have two copies of the Texas Chainsaw Massacre in gold/copper colored tins - was anyone looking for these?

Re: Wal-Mart Bargains Thread #2

Over the last three weeks I went to two Walmarts in the area and neither of them had any of the titles for $3 or $4 anywhere in sight. I was, of course, upset because I wanted The Odd Couple DVD that people keep talking about. Although, the Walmart farthest from my school had a huge selection of $5 titles (the usual) but one I found that I had not seen in stores outside of FYE for a long time was the Batman animated movie Mask of the Phantasm. That movie brings back some memories of my childhood, usually ones involving a hospital...

Yeah I know what it's called - I didn't pull it up to see if it was a steelbook or a two-piece package...just saw that it was metal. Whoever stocks the 5 dollar dump bin jams everything in so tight it's hard to get anything out of it. anyway, picking them up tomorrow as a couple folks on here want em.

Re: Wal-Mart Bargains Thread #2

Just found a copy of the Ringu set and Sunset Blvd today at my local Walmart. On a brand new $4 rack. If you haven't found them yet keep looking they might still show up.

Re: Wal-Mart Bargains Thread #2

This is starting to piss me off. The Walmart here put out the tags for Shield $20/season and Forever Knight $15/season on Tuesday, and the shelf still hasn't been filled. Why isn't Amazon or someone matching these prices yet?

Re: Wal-Mart Bargains Thread #2

One of the stores here relocated the $4 display and did a major restock of mostly titles no one is buying... but I did manage to score the only copy of "Beowulf" with the bonus game.

Re: Wal-Mart Bargains Thread #2

I blind bought Sunset Boulevard (Centennial Collection). The summary on the back of the case intrigued me. I also picked up Kindergarten Cop for $5. I didn't notice until after I opened it that it was full frame.

Re: Wal-Mart Bargains Thread #2

Frustrated because I was finally in a WM today, and only had about 30 seconds to comb the $4 DVD displays. I found "Reds", and would've bought "Ringu" if I saw it.

Sunset is probably my favorite film noir of all time... Great film. (and also OOP now)

Picked up X-Files seasons 3 and 4 for $13.96 each. They had all nine seasons... Same single width cases as the seasons 1/2 two pack. (which they still have for $20)

The TV section has been redone with a lot of $13.96 seasons. Roswell, Buffy, Angel, etc.

The $4 bin is a disaster...

It's a brilliant freaking film. I saw it during my History class in school and wasn't all too excited at first but wow, one of the best films of all time. Gloria Swanson deserved that Oscar!!!

But opinions aside, I went back at WM and looked where I hid The Odd Couple and Roman Holiday but they were GONE!!! I guess they were more thorough than I thought! HOWEVER, my brother found another copy of Roman Holiday and OMFG! I found a copy of Sunset Blvd!!! I also found Reds and even though I had no idea what the movie was, I bought all three of them because for $4 each and 2-disc sets, I wouldn't risk trying to hide them again. It's so very weird that I found 2 copies of Sunset Blvd when I couldn't before. I'm so lucky.

They had several Wanted Dead or Alive (Steve McQeen) Season One in the 5.00 bin this morning. Its the Mill Creek one but I think its pretty much the same as the New Line one but better packaging than the New Line one.

Re: Wal-Mart Bargains Thread #2

Went to Walmart today and wasn't even going to look at DVD's for once, but I came across a huge bin of the $4 titles. They had the $4 titles before, but they were in a little cardboard display. I found Chinatown finally and grabbed it. I also grabbed a Double Feature of The First Wives Club and Sliding Doors. I know absolutely nothing of Sliding Doors (except that it stars Gwyneth Paltrow, so chances are that it sucks), but I'd pay $4 for the other movie alone.
