Re: Wal-Mart Bargains Thread #2

Just got back from Wal-Mart, man they have some damn good deals. Got Halloween 4/5 double feature and Happy Birthday to Me.

Picked up Napoleon Dynamite also. It is 2 Disc and only $9. It is some kind of collectors series from Fox. They come with a collectible art card in every one. More titles I saw were: Predator, Raging Bull, Independence Day, Walk the Line.

Also saw some Paramount Lenticular re-releases. Cloverfield and Sleepy Hollow were some I saw, just thought I'd spread the word!

Noticed the same thing earlier tonight in WM. The $9 DVDs are labled as "iconic" editions or something like that. In addition to ND, there were probably a dozen other titles....Big and The Passion of the Christ come to mind. I wonder if these were the same as previous releases just with a different label on the front?

They also had a dozen or so titles that were labled "definitive" editions. These were $13.00 and were sets of 3 movies from what I could see. The first 3 Aliens, Rocky 1-3, Species 1-3, Dr. Dolittle, Sandlot, Hannibal Lecter set and more... Interesting but similar to previous releases at a similar price point, I believe.

Also, saw a display that had Voltron and Thundercats for around $20 each. For Voltron, they were the "tin" sets. All of the Thundercats season's were they as well. I definitely will be picking those up soon.

October is destroying my wallet haha.

Re: Wal-Mart Bargains Thread #2

Picked up Happy Birthday to Me yesterday. What a great horror/slasher film it is. Lots of fun and a strong cast. (Melissa Sue Anderson, Tracey Bregman, and Glenn Ford.)

There were quite a few good titles in the $5.00 horror section.

Happy Birthday to Me (2009 Anchor Bay release)
The Texas Chain Saw Massacre (1974) (Dark Sky's 2-Disc Ultimate Edition from 2006)
Black X-Mas (2006) Unrated
Hello Mary Lou: Prom Night II
Jaws (Unfortunately, the 25th Anniversary disc from 2000, not the 30th Anniversary disc from 2005)
Jaws 2
Jaws 3 (okay, this one sucks)
Jaws 4: The Revenge (the Universal release, not the Goodtimes release) (Part 4 sucks worse than part 3)
Halloween 4: The Return of Michael Myers (Divimax)/Halloween 5: The Revenge of Michael Myers (Divimax) (Double Feature)
I Know Who Killed Me (2007, Lindsay Lohan - yeah, more thriller than horror, but I liked it)
Fright Night
Wolf Creek
Hellraiser (20th Anniversary disc from 2007)
Urban Legend
The Amityville Horror (1979)/The Amityville Horror (2005) (Double Feature)

I'll try to go back to walmart for you today, was just there.

My walmart has Midnight Movie in this section for $5! Not too shabby for a near-new release.

Re: Wal-Mart Bargains Thread #2

Went to my regular Wallyworld last nite and saw the changes every1 has been talking about. That Chips 2 pk will be mine next week when I have money, and I want In Living Color Seasons 3 and 4 (to go along with seasons 1 and 2 I got over the summer). While not much of a fan of the original series, 9.99 for seasons 2-5 of Law & Order is gonna be too good to pass up. Want to do one at a time-hope the stock holds out. I am soooooooo glad the Species 3 pack is back (they had it on display last spring and then it totally dissappered), and I think I wlll also be in for the Alien 3 pack.

Ive noticed that X-Files Seasons 1 and 2 two pack is gone, but I see the Dukes of Hazzard 1 and 2 and Fresh Prince 1 and 2 in there place.

I also saw Futurama Seasons 1-4 for 13 bucks each, all in the new regluar size CD case.

On vacation next week and will be mall hopping all over New England and am sure I will be in at least 10 Wallyworlds. I hope New Hampshire has similar stock. No tax rules!

Was it the same price at Sam's as it was at WalMart?
