DVDs at TJ Maxx and Marshalls

Ive been finding a bunch of random DVDs recently at both of these stores (same corporation) and though most of them are pretty crappy, they were all priced to move at just $3.99 or $4.99!

One DVD which I found interestingly was the show Boomtown for only $4.99 for the complete first season!

And then there were some older release such as Dudley-Do-Right (live action movie), Born on the 4th of July and a special edition of Four Weddings and a Funeral.

So you guys might want to check them out for older releases and maybe for some cheap bargain DVDs.

Re: DVDs at TJ Maxx and Marshalls

Boomtown gets no love... That's one of the titles appearing at the Kroger stores with the HD-DVD's for $8 (then $4 once they went to 50% off, and now only $2--and my friend still saw them sitting them. No one was buying it, even for 2 bucks!!!)

Bunch of cheap HD-DVDs are showing up. Most are universal combo discs.

Thanks, I'll have to check it out. Although I own practically all of the Universals already, I think I'm missing a few...

Now that's a deal. Thanks for the heads up. Great, great show. Harry Morgan is still kicking at 94 years old.

Re: DVDs at TJ Maxx and Marshalls

They're usually in the childrens' section (even if they're not childrens' movies). So check there, also by the books, and I also once found about a dozen Good Eats DVDs in the kitchen section by the cookbooks. Only $3.99 a piece!

Few months ago I found Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone, which I'd wanted for some time but didn't want to bother with importing.

I found a 2 disc LE of Lemony Snicket: SOUE for 4.99. Passed on it, but it caught my eye as I don't think I've ever seen the 2 disc for it before. But then I haven't been looking either.

Re: DVDs at TJ Maxx and Marshalls

The Marshall's in Methuen had a decent selection of DVDs, including 'Angels in America' for $5.99, 'Empire Falls' for $4.99, and the first four seasons of 'Full House' for $9.99 each.

Might have to brave it and head over to Marshalls across the street from where I work on my lunch break tomorrow to see if I can pick anything up (in particular '30 Rock')

Was this 30 Rock S1 or S1 V1? Just asking as 30 Rock originally had a V1 & V2 before it came as a complete S1... Thanks.

Re: DVDs at TJ Maxx and Marshalls

Slightly embarrassed myself yesterday, I guess. Vaguely remembered this thread title, but not the exact stores. So I drive by a Dress Barn and think that it was one of the chains mentioned here. Go in and search the entire store, nothing even vaguely resembling DVDs, and I have to look incredibly out of place there. At least I don't do further damage by asking.

A TJ Maxx was around the corner, and they had very few DVDs. Maybe 7 titles total, stuff like a couple IMAX documentaries and a couple films I see at Big Lots for half the price. No TV seasons or HD-DVDs.

Sterling locations fwiw.

Re: DVDs at TJ Maxx and Marshalls

The T.J. Maxx stores in my area sells a lot of 80's DVD's. I haven't been to store in about 3 or 4 months.

I wasn't aware they had split the season. It is S1 V1 not the full season.
