I am SO in for the Galactica BB exclusive set!!

the dog tags look pretty cool, and the book (titled "So Say We All") looks pretty sweet too... even though I can't really tell what it is from the pic. A pictorial? Behind-the-scenes? Episode recaps? Who cares!! I'm sold! (and I have $40 in BB gift cards to use)

As am I Cinemaphile. I'm getting this funny feeling that this is gonna be the object of many fanboys. I better be at the store early to snag a copy. Don't want a repeat of "300".

What I would have loved for them to include is an alternate cut with all the footage
Spoiler:
in chronological order, since it was originally scripted that way according to the commentary, instead of the current version with the flashbacks)

That aside, I'd love to know what the extra goodies are like, speedy do you have scans of these ads or just text files?

I have the actual ad as noted above.

That's cool, I've just never been sure how get these scoops, whether you saw the actual ads or just "rough drafts". I realize you can't give away your secrets, I'm just woolgathering out loud

It's funny how many 14.99 titles are part of their 2 for $35 sale.

Those flashback minisodes were totally awesome (especially the dogfights). I would love to see Moore and company do a series/miniseries/movie on the original Cylon war, complete with young Bill Adama. I'm guessing Caprica will end before the actual war (assuming it doesn't flop and get canceled early).

I already have Razor, but I'm still going to get the 4.0 set. I'll probably try to sell my Razor DVD, but I got it on sale so I don't feel too bad about double-dipping. I wish I knew what was in that book in the LE.

Anyone get the BSG exclusive yet, and open it? Just wondering if the book is worth it... The pic above makes it look like it might be decent, even though it is soft cover...

the Galactica book is "a 32-page booklet (called So Say We All) with profiles of every character of any significance on the show, from Commander Adama to Tom Zarek"
- from Digital Bits

Re: Best Buy Prices: January 4 - January 10, 2009

I just got back from picking it up. TERRIBLE packaging. The book and dog tags are sandwiched between the slim cases. The dog tags are blister carded, and the plastic is facing the book, which leaves marks and causes the book to warp. I wish they had put the dog tags facing the other way so the blister card would keep the book flat. Regardless, unless you want to leave the dog tags on the blister card and inside of the box, you will have a huge gap between the slim cases. Also, every box I found to be in poor condition. I might just return it and get the regular 4.0 elsewhere (and for cheaper).

I picked up my BSG set today and was surprised that there was such a gap in the case when you took out the dogtags. Seems like this packaging was not thought out too well. I did take out the dogtags and the Razor slim case, and I could put my two disc Razor DVD with slipcover inside the 4.0 box! So maybe I will just ditch the Razor DVD, or give to a friend.

I did notice the spine has Six in her red dress, but the BSG shield in the background is cut in half (similar to how the 2.0 box was to match up with 2.5). Maybe there will be another exclusive box when 4.5 is released. Otherwise, they won't match up too well. (I didn't think to look at a standard DVD case for 4.0!)

I was all excited about picking up the BSG exclusive but one look at it and I decided against. I'm just going to get the Futureshop Steelbook exclusive instead.

Re: Best Buy Prices: January 4 - January 10, 2009

When I got there, there were only three copies in the store (San Bernardino, CA) of the BSG gift set. And I was there at 10:13 AM. Folks were snatching them up.

I do agree with Kenbenobi the packaging gap is pretty huge. I haven't opened the dog tags. I found that putting those in the end after to booklet and upside down actually, kinda fills up the space. But...

Reading the comment by JSwarce I'm beginning to think he's right on the money. Perhaps this was the plan all along; most fans of the show already have "Razor". And it would be a perfect way to house it. A fancy slipcover.

Anyhow here are some scans; back of the box (clearer view of the swag), booklet and dog tags...

Did some lookin', interesting. The steelbook mentioned by Tonymontana313 from Future Shop.

I have a question. Have those who bought "Babylon A.D." two disc set had a problem finding it? When I was at Best Buy I only saw one copy. I saw two at Circuit City, around 6:40 PM. And I bought the last copy at my local Wal-Mart shortly there after. I am imagining? Was this a hot seller? Was this sort packed? Weird.

Thanks!

Is the height of the box the same as a regular set?
