Holy damn! That's a great deal on the Superman set. I only need the first movie out of that set, having picked up the rest on sale over the last year. Still, $17 is less than I'd have to pay for it by itself....

That's for a lot of extras as well. If you just want 2 good movies and 2 crap you can get the 4 Film Favorites set for around $10:

Great deal on Superman, but I already have the complete tin...
As for the other cheap titles, I was hoping for a repeat of the recent $10 GC Kill Bill set for $1.98 for some of these titles. Pan's Labyrinth is in the 6.98 list and qualifies for the free $10 GC, but none of the other titles do.

Does the box have the Donner Cut of Superman II?

Amazon has the set for $19.99, so it must have had a price drop recently.

No. It's the original release.

Black Hawk Down 3-Disc for $6.99 is not too shabby.

Most of these deals are in today's ad, so they aren't really Black Friday Deals BTW.

Thanks to the OP. I placed my order for the Superman set expecting to pick it up after work. I got e-mail that it was ready to pick up 12 minutes after placing it. Since I was already going to be nearby, I stopped in and had it within minutes. This marks the first time in the past two years I had a purely positive shopping experience at Best Buy.

Does that vacation set contain the best version of each film? Is it just the 4 releases in a box?

Unfortunately, it's a lot like saying getting punched in the face while Richard Pryor watches is a lot better than getting kicked in the balls and punched in the face... while Jon Cryer watches.

ha ha ha i was able to snag this deal before they corrected the glitch ... i did it twice ...for kill bill vol. 1&2 and for O Brother Where Art Thou & Good Will Hunting...

i had the same problem as many i would pay but the GC wouldnt show as free so i called and they corrected the mistake ... i think now though they are saying its either or ... you cant have both

I like Superman III too. I never understood the hate that it gets. And at this price, what does it matter?

if you take a look at the ad ... then look over at the "featured offers" section of the website theres more dvds on the website that are also listed on the black friday ad then on this weeks ad ... thats why i posted this ... same movies, same price as black friday ... im sure they'll have tons more on the actual black friday but i think this counts ...

Best four. SE of 1 and 3 and the Widescreen edition of 4. There is only one edition of Euro Vac.

I'm mad because I've always hoped Warner would do a double-feature of 3 and 4, or just do a four-film favorites.

Thanks, OP! I managed to get the Superman set last night, and even though I'd kept up with the sales I somehow managed to be entirely unaware of this particular deal. $16.99 was worth it for the 4-disc set of "Superman: The Movie" alone. Next weekend, my wife is going on her annual girl's trip and I have a sneaking suspicion I'm going to completely geek out while she's gone.

Incidentally, when I looked for my set, I couldn't find it and neither could the employee working in media. He was actually friendly and helpful, spending a good ten minutes running all around the store on my behalf. They weren't in with the rest of the Superman movies or any of the displays of the current sale items throughout the store. I eventually found several of the boxes in their Collector's Sets aisle. I can't recall now if they were alphabetized by "C" for "Christopher Reeve Superman Collection" or if they were under "S" for, y'know, "Superman." If you're looking for one, this is where I would start.
