Re: Big Lots Update Part 3
^The Derry store had tons of previewed dvds yesterday, saw Rambo and some other newer stuff, but yeah it's too much. Who buys these scratched up dvds for $6? I can't even sell my mint copies for the same price or less (well, dvdtalker's are much more frugal than BL shoppers anyway).
I also saw another new Sony title which I have not seen mentioned before, and even worse it's fullscreen only:
Spider's Web (Stephen Baldwin, Kari Wuhrer) Fullscreen
...
and some new anime from Bandai:
Flag (Vol.1)
Flag (Vol.2)

The $6.00 DVD's I was told about were the used rental returns. They had 500+, I wish them luck selling them...........
On the other hand, for those who missed the deal on Woot a few weeks back, my BL had 4 of the Same refurbished Philips 3962 multi region hackable players for the same $25 Woot was charging. Also had a Philips DVD/VCR combo for $40.

Their new ad also shows they got some more refurbished VCR/DVD-Recorders w/ Digital Tuners that they had before Christmas last year priced at $79. Last time my biglots had Magnavox, but it says in the ad "brands may vary by store." You can record OTA digital (downconverted) to VCR or DVD.

Re: Big Lots Update Part 3
I've checked out the local Big Lots, though not on a regular basis, and purchased a handful of titles, more for my kid than for myself. Some of the titles that were mentioned a while back on this thread seem to be just showing up now at my store. I would love to spot a Warner two-disc at my store, but never have. Either I always miss them, not really being a regular customer, or they just never got them here. Oh well.
Went in there today and the rack was overflowing with stuff, but there was a larger than usual amount of PV titles, so that probably accounted for it. There were a number of those PV titles I probably would have snapped up if they were cheaper than six bucks, including Before the Devil Knows You're Dead, Into the Wild, and There Will Be Blood.
