And some are actually in better condition than that. A few I picked up looked like someone lightly scratched them with their fingernail. But, they were all snappers and everyone loathes snappers, so there was absolutely no point in sharing this info ...because they're snappers.
I dunno, I'd be good with knowing that--tho every snapper I was finding was pretty toasted. I considered the relative ease of replacing the plastic portions of snappers, though.

Funny how the Warner titles that have been showing up at 99 Cents Only stores aren't slashed, but the ones selling elsewhere for $3 are! (If you're out of the area where that store is, don't be too jealous- there haven't been any movie titles, mostly sports, TV shows and cartoons.)

It was nice how all the Sony titles were untouched, they just had a white sticker outside the shrinkwrap stuck over the UPC so it didn't accidentally get scanned. Back in the day I was paying $15 or so for cutout laserdiscs with either a hole punched clear through the cover or some with a whole corner cut off, so the slashed DVDs at Big Lots are tolerable.

UPC confirmed in other thread. I also added a discrepancy on Indian Summer packaging.

One thing I did notice on the new slashed dvds was that the Big Lots price sticker was under the shrinkwrap. Not all were like that, but Horror of Dracula and Mighty Joe Young that I bought were. Also saw a few copies of Superman Returns single disc. These were at the Natrona Heights store. No slashed copies at Penn Hills.

I picked up the following today:

East of Eden
The Exorcist: 25th Anniversary Edition
Garfield and Friends: A Cat and his Nerd $4
Garfield and Friends: Dreams and Schemes $4
Little Children (Kate Winslet )
The Majestic

All of mine were slashed on the UPC except for the Garfield DVDs, but for $3 each, I'm not to going to complain.

Mine are like that too. Also there's dirt underneath the shinkwrap of Mighty Joe Young. The slashed upc is under the shrinkwrap too.

For what it's worth, I've seen the 2-disc at F.Y.E. as part of their 3 for $10 bin. It may be hard to find 2 other titles worth the deal, but wanted to point it out otherwise.

Actually the Might Joe Young's at my BL were not even shrinked wrapped. Probably the only title in that bunch that I was willing to buy like that. I hope it didn't come with an insert!

I got mine in the Best Buy Bonus King Kong Collection (which I purchased new at WM for $19.95). It has no insert.

I mentioned the other day in the BL Black Friday thread that I'd gotten to go through a batch of $2 BF DVD's & would post the new titles. Most of what I saw has been around for awhile, but the following are new to me & don't appear to be on the master list:

MGM
Everything You Always Wanted To Know About Sex But Were Afraid To Ask (Woody Allen) (WS/FS)
Life Stinks (Mel Brooks) WS/FS
Mad Dog Time (Diane Lane Jeff Goldblum) (FS)
Osama (WS)
Outer Limits Mutation & Transformation Collection (FS)
Stonebrook (WS)
Take This Job & Shove it (Barbara Hershey) (WS/FS)

Columbia
The Man From Laramie (WS)/The Desperadoes (FS) (James Stewart/Glen Ford)

My store got the shipment today.

Network 2 Disc
East of Eden 2 Disc
Philadelphia Story 2 Disc
Little Children

On some things I am very anal, but for these discs, I can live with the case scratch. For $3, as long as it looks good on the shelf and the media plays, I'll deal.

Finally had a few good visits to Big Lots. Over the past month I was able to score:

Panic Room 3-disc
Sleepwalkers
Bubba Ho-Tep
Grudge 2
Mothman Prophecies 2-disc
Capote/In Cold Blood Double Feature
Monster 2-disc
Darkness Falls
Bad Influence
Leon
Gattaca SE

And in my last visit, I found a few HBO titles I'd been looking for:

Norma Jean and Marilyn (completely naked Ashley Judd for three bucks is a must)
Bill Maher Victory Begins at Home
Lucky Louie

Strangely enough, they only appeard to have one copy each of all HBO titles.

No Notorious Bettie Page, though.

City Hall

Disclosure
Exit Wounds

I saw like 30+ of Santa Claus in Coming to Town and Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer (the Rankin-Bass stop motion) for $5 last night at my Portland, OR Big Lots. Also saw the remnants of the $4 James Bond titles. Unfortunately, none of the titles left were ones I was interested in -- mostly the worst of Roger Moore's run.

Will swing by again today in hopes of getting first crack at that warner display.

Hit up another Big Lots this afternoon and got The American President, Blood Work, Dave, and In the Land of Women from their WB display.

I saw both the single-disc and the 2-Disc SE of Network.

I thought this might be of some interest to all you Big Lots shoppers. I just noticed that their ad for Thursday, Friday, and Saturday includes this:

"Early Bird Special! Thursday, Friday, & Saturday before 11am

Spend $50 and receive a $10 off coupon good toward your next purchase!*"

Didn't see any other disclaimer other than the hours, but please note the asterisk. I didn't see any reference in the ad in regards to the asterisk, so I guess we'll see. Hopefully I will find at least 25 titles I want. Twenty five DVDs for $40. Wow.

Edit: Please note that the $2 DVDs are Friday only.
