Re: Big Lots Update Part 3

Went back to my big lots today and looked for The Butcher Boy to no avail... Will go back Friday to see if they get anything else in... Still planning on buying about 10 more of these titles when I go back.

Re: Big Lots Update Part 3

okay, i went back again today and i'm glad i did because i gotz me some movays

in all i got 12 (9) for myself and (3) for a friends.

i got:

waiting for guffman
the butcher boy
mutiny on the bounty
the red badge of courage
there was a crooked man
east of eden (2 disc)
prince of the city (2 disc)
walk hard
caberet

for friend:

another waiting for guffman
another butcher boy
barry lyndon (i already own it)

i was a little disappointed though because three of them i wanted the most i didn't see (city of lost children my number 1 want out of the batch, clash by night, and day for night). also was looking for eros of a friend of mine too.

but there were plenty of others i wanted to check out but i didn't want to spend too much like all the old musics and other older films, memories, and many more. damn its quite the shipment.

Re: Big Lots Update Part 3

I wish I could find King's Row...

I found a lot of other good stuff, but not that one. I love it when they get new shipments in - except for what it does to my wallet.

The Provo, Utah store just got a new shipment in. I picked up eight titles:

And Now For Something Completely Different
Day for Night
Mutiny on the Bounty
Prince of the City
The Promise
Ryan's Daughter
Saawariya
The White Countess

I'll probably go back tomorrow and pick up some others I saw, like:

Guess Who's Coming to Dinner
Memories
Stranger Than Fiction
To Sir, With Love

I'd love to find "The Butcher Boy" and "Cabaret".

Re: Big Lots Update Part 3

The Sterling VA location has started to get a better selection.

Went their last night and found about 60 titles. Stood in line for a minute, and thought, "what the heck am I doing", put half of them back.

Re: Big Lots Update Part 3

Just curious....
How many people are actually seeing these at their Big Lots?
The Dark Backward & City of Lost Children....
I'm not seeing alot of people picking these up so I'm guessing they are both hard to find?

Re: Big Lots Update Part 3

Hey Everybody. Computer problems have kept me from updating the list for awhile, but I'm back up and running.......To start, I eliminated the "Funimation" category seeing as it only had one title in it, and I folded it into the newly created "Anime" category. Now keep in mind that whatever people list that they have FOUND, I will add it to the list the way you write it. Anime is confusing to me, so what I see, is the way it's going to be added. Hope that's ok........Now as for the rest of the new titles, both singles and the Universal 2-pack movies that I need to catch up with, I'll start going through where I last left off and hopefully will be caught up in a day or two.

I've been to 7 Biglots and I've seen The Dark Backward at 2 stores and the City of Lost Children at 1 store. Several of the stores I visited were already picked over, so other folks could have bought them...

East of Eden is also hard to find. Out of 7 stores I have seen it at 2. It is a very popular title, so I think it would go real fast. I guess it just depends on when you get to the store. A day or two could make the difference.

Thanks for the reply....
The one store that had most of the stuff wasn't even picked over yet....
From what you said, I'm guessing the two I can't find are hard to find....
My other store should have a new restock in a few days, hopefully I'll have luck there....

Re: Big Lots Update Part 3

Hey guys - My Big Lots got pretty much everything I wanted with the exception of 'To Sir With Love.' I'd be willing to trade whichever titles you are unable to find in exchange. Let me know! Thanks. Glen / GlenSColen@gmail.com

Re: Big Lots Update Part 3

They have a ton of most of the movies listed (including "The Dark Backward" and "Private Parts") at one of the Big Lots closest to me in Chattanooga; however the other two stores as of Sunday didn't have any of them. YMMV in a big way!..

Re: Big Lots Update Part 3

As of just an hour or two ago, the Big Lots at Franklin Mills Mall (northeast of Philly) had 11 copies each of The City of Lost Children and The Dark Backward, after I snagged a copy of both. I also saw:

Roughnecks: The Hydora Campaign
