I guess Final Destination 3 is popular cause I can't find it at any store. I got everything else I wanted but that one is a tough one to find.

During the last 10 days, I have been to 8 Biglots throughout Orange and Los Angeles counties. Saw alot of stuff already mentioned, no shipments with new stuff.

I saw lots of Superman Returns 2 disk, Dog Day Afternoon 2 disk, Tabitha series (2 disk), The Big Red One 2 disk, Freddy vs. Jason 2 disk, Action series (2 disk).

I only saw one copy of Final Destination 3 (2 disk). It did not have a slipcover. (Interestingly enough I saw Shanghai Surprise being sold with and without the slipcover for $2.)

Some stores still had a few leftover $2 Black Friday Sony dvds and $2 LionsGate/Artisan dvds.

I did a run yesterday and picked up:

An American Werewolf in London
Van Helsing: The London Assignment
Adaptation
Capote
Born on the Fourth of July: SE
Sneakers

Side Note - Does anyone else's Adaptation look like ass? I started watching it today and the image is crawling with edge enhancement. I thought maybe my player was crapping out so I popped in Sneakers and it looked fantastic. I put Adaptation in my Blu-Ray player and it still looked like crap. Did I end up with a crap copy? The DVD & Blu-Ray players run through HDMI to my TV.

Another recent Big Lots purchase (The Big Empty) also looks horrible when I tried to watch it.

I've been to about 6 stores. I guess on some of these titles, they just get a couple copies and then they get a bunch of the others. I must have seen 100 copies of Adaptation. I saw one copy of freddy jason. No Superman Returns, Pans Labyrinth, Final Destination 3.

Wasn't anything at my local (Richmond, KY) store today. Wire rack was pretty wiped out in comparison to last week so I guess they haven't put anything on it since then. Also went to Lexington, KY store last week and they had some of the various HBO ones there...

Can anyone verify that all the movies in those Woody Allen sets are 16x9? It doesn't say anywhere on the outside, and MGM's hit-or-miss in that area.

^It's just the individual movies in a box, if you check out each title separately online, you'll see they are all anamorphic.

Short answer...YES!

Just a recommendation here that everyone should check out the Corner. It's a great miniseries.

Modesto, CA (eastside store)

Dropped into my nearest Big Lots to find the DVD section looking the same as last time - but on closer inspection found new stock mixed into the inventory. Picked up:

Bubba Ho-Tep CE
Harper Valley P.T.A.
Journeys with George (documentary)
The Late Shift
The Life and Death of Peter Sellers
Loving Couples
They All Laughed (25th Anniversary Edition)
Turbulence (cover makes the title appear to be "It's A Killer Ride")

Made notes this time about other titles I saw not yet on the master list:

Arliss (12 episodes)
Clay Pigeons
Crocodile 2: Death Swamp
Duane Hopwood
Gladiator Days
Go Tell the Spartans FS
Hellbreeder
Odd Jobs
Soul of the Game

Re: Big Lots Update Part 3

Just got back from BL. They had a fresh stock of HBO titles - seemed like they had all of them but only 1 copy of each. Picked up:

Hitchhiker vol 2 and vol 3
RKO 281
The Corner
The Image
Mantle
Whoopi Back to Broadway

What other HBO titles are out there that are pretty good that people have picked up? Also, if anyone might need any let me know and tomorrow morning I'll go and see if they have them...send me a PM.

I hit up the local BL last night and found the HBO series The Comeback. I have never seen it but for $3 I figured what the hell.

Re: Big Lots Update Part 3

FYI, the $6.00 titles I mentioned a few days back did not show up. I was told that they may be in this week's batch or their may have been an error by corporate. No idea yet what they are.

Sorry I'm being so vague, but anonymous source & all that...........
