I also received a postcard in the mail Monday from DD advertising the sale.

In the fine print:

But I see they are doing the "Mega sale" again, select CD's and books heavily discounted.

My need for instant gratification is killing me!!! I ordered the planet of the apes set last week and it is on back order and then I went to order band of brothers blu-ray and sadly it too is on back order I own both already on DVD but it just ain't the same. I soooo wanted to get band of brothers today at best buy but that extra 15 or so off compelled me to wait.

Just buy 'em at whatever store. Save the receipts, bag, and price tags. Once your Deeeeep Discount copies come in, put the price tags on them, and return them to the store.

The store is made whole by getting the exact, brand new copies of those same titles. Instant gratification solved.

From my experience, the larger the order, the longer it takes to process. I never assume DD have every single DVD they say that are "IN STOCK" actually is in stock. They may have to get it from a distributor which takes time to order and ship to and from. Now multiply that by the amount of items in your order and it becomes very complicated especially if the items are from different sources. Plus, weekends are essentially dead times for shipping.

I'm not saying that your frsutration is not warranted, but you have to look at both sides of the situation. I've been involved in warehouse/internet shipping before and it is a very complicated process to fulfill large orders with such a big inventory of items.

Sounds logical enough. Although since both titles are on backorder thru DD that would deduct more time from the "return window" for whatever B&M store he chooses to purchase from. It is also kind of a gamble that they would arrive in good shape from DD.

Apparently, patience is not a virtue . Perhaps this will make you feel better. I placed an order for a dvd on June 22nd during DDD's last sale. That DVD just shipped on Friday, November 7th (almost 5 months- not too bad)

Best Buy has a bonus disc. Was only $11.99 last week, so I jumped on it. Dunno what the regular price is, but it still might be worth getting there cuz of the bonus disc.
