WB 4 Film Favorites selections at Wal-Mart for $10

Visited the Tracy, CA Wal-Mart today and found a special cardboard standee full of Warner Bros "4 Film Favorites" Collections for only $10 each - the selections were:

Superman: Superman / Superman II / Superman III / Superman IV: The Quest for Peace

Matrix: The Matrix / Matrix Reloaded / Matrix Revolutions / Animatrix

Nightmare On Elm St: A Nightmare On Elm Street / A Nightmare On Elm Street 2: Freddy's Revenge / A Nightmare On Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors / A Nightmare On Elm Street 4: The Dream Master

Clint Eastwood: Space Cowboys / Honkytonk Man / Every Which Way But Loose / Any Which Way You Can

Elvis Presley: Kissin' Cousins / Live a Little, Love a Little / Girl Happy / Tickle Me

Ice Cube: Friday / Next Friday / Friday After Next / All About the Benjamins

Hugh Grant: Music and Lyrics / Two Weeks Notice / Mickey Blue Eyes / An Awfully Big Adventure

Horse Favorites: Black Beauty / The Story of Seabiscuit / National Velvet / International Velvet

Picked up Superman and Matrix - 2 double sided discs in these sets - all proper anamorphic aspect ratios - the Superman discs all had commentary tracks

Is Superman the original 1978 version or the 2001 reissue with the added scenes and remixed sound?

Stole this from DVD Empire. Sounds like it's the 1978 version from the box set. Those Salkind commentaries are informative, but grating:

Superman
- Commentary by Producer Pierre Spengler and Executive Producer Ilya Salkind
- Theatrical Trailers & TV Spot

Superman II
-Commentary by Producer Pierre Spengler and Executive Producer Ilya Salkind
- Superman's Souffle Deleted Scene
- Theatrical Trailer

Superman III
- Commentary by Producer Pierre Spengler and Executive Producer Ilya Salkind
- Vintage TV Special The Making of Superman III
- Additional Scenes
- Theatrical Trailer

Superman IV: The Quest For Peace
- Commentary by Co-Screenwriter Mark Rosenthal
- Additional Scenes
- Theatrical Trailer

the "Richard Donner Cut" of Superman 2 is a much better version than the theatricly released version, and Superman 3 and 4 pretty much suck. a much better Superman collection would be what I own. -
Superman "special edition"
Superman 2 "donner cut"
Superman Returns

Superman Returns pretty much picks up where the donner cut ends off. These 3 films make up a much better Superman collection, in my opinion.

It is the 1978 version. I bought the superman and matrix. Although I already have all matrix movies. I bought this one just for the Animatrix.

I hope they have Batman.

The box says all 4 are anamorphic widescreen. Haven't opened it yet to verify.

Those are great prices to own the original Christopher Reeve Superman films, and The Matrix collection. I already own the Ultimate Superman box, but may pick it up for stocking stuffers for my nephews. I will be picking up The Matrix collection for myself, however.

Thanks for the heads-up, OP.

did warner put out a batman set in thier "4 film favorites" line??? if they have I havnt seen it.
my favorite set in the line is the one they put out last year, with all 4 lethal weapon movies. the christopher lee dracula set was pretty good as well.

Here's the search results of "4 Film Favorites" at WarnerBros.com which lists 27 of these, but no Batman.

That is a different Clint Eastwood set. The one the OP listed is available as well.

The one I bought yesterday has the two Clyde movies.

Deep Discount has all the warner four film favorite packs with prices ranging from 10.95 to 12.49(matrix,superman and eastwood sets are all 10.95)so with there big 25% sale coming up in a few days there could be some really good deals(if they do not raise the prices of these sets that is)

The Hugh Grant is a great deal, especially for the movie "An Awfully Big Adventure," great little film with Alan Rickman.

My WM has cleared out a good deal of their 5.00 bin. I'm hoping this means new stuff will be arriving.

They also slashed the prices of Sims 2 games, on an unrelated note.
