So, I guess you guys haven't seen this:

Quote:
Nov. 3, 2008— Infinity Resources, Inc., parent company of Critics´ Choice Video, DeepDiscount.com, DVDPlanet and Video Collection, today announced a pre-Thanksgiving holiday DVD & Blu-Ray disc sales promotion, Nov. 7-23.

That's 25 percent off their already low prices. "We hope that the additional savings, combined with free shipping at our DeepDiscount.com website, will help customers with their holiday shopping during our country's current economic slump," said David Barker, Vice President, Ecommerce Marketing for Infinity.

The savings apply to their other sites, too: Critics Choice Video, DVD Planet, and Video Collection.

Consumers will be required to enter a password to receive the discount (If you´re reading this now, your discount code is "save"). The 25 percent "coupon" is applicable to any DVD or Blu-Ray disc (except pre-orders).

Infinity Resources, Inc. (IRI) is a recognized leader in direct marketing and direct commerce manage services. IRI´s diversified client list includes many best-in-class, direct-marketing companies. In addition, IRI is itself a world-class direct marketer, with an industry-leading presence in several business verticals. IRI´s proprietary companies include Collectors´ Choice Music, Critics´ Choice Video, DeepDiscount.com, DVD Planet, Video Collection, Heartland Music, Serenade Music, Spilsbury, Infinity Entertainment Group and i-Serve Direct Commerce Services.

Critics´ Choice Video is the largest movie cataloger in the United States, mailing over 12 million catalogs each year. Visit the companion Web site at www.ccvideo.com, named a Forbes "Best of the Web" Site and voted "Best Site to Shop for Movies" and "Best Site to Buy Movies" by the L.A. Times.

DeepDiscount.com offers over 30,000 DVDs, 200,000 CDs, 5,000 video games and 700,000 books. DeepDiscount.com is the highest volume, stand-alone movie store on the Internet offering the guaranteed lowest total prices online and free shipping!

DVD Planet boasts the highest-volume brick and mortar DVD storefronts in the world. DVD Planet stocks more than 30,000 titles at discounted prices in each store and online.

Video Collection, the leading catalog in its genre, specializes in an eclectic product mix ranging from British TV programming to documentaries to performing arts, box sets and collections. If it´s hard to find, try Video Collection!

The promotion will be extensively advertised in USA Today; on radio, including ESPN, Fox Sports and XM and Sirius comedy channels; through online search engines, including Yahoo!, AOL and MSN; and on coupon and shopping Web sites. Additionally, it will be promoted by an extensive direct-to-consumer e-mail campaign.

25% + 4% Live.com cash back -- wow. The 4% will likely be based on pre-promo discount pricing based on previous experiences. We'll see if that sticks around for the sale. The Live.com has been as high as 10% in the past. 25+10% off! One can dream... can't they?

I wouldn't be surprised if there will be no Live Cashback during the 25% off sale (or if it was like 1%). Cashback tends to go back and forth during retailer's sales.

^^I think its usually based on how much you actually pay...hence it would be 4% off the discounted price. Im guessing it might not work either, but probably wouldnt hurt to order everything with cashback active and see if it goes through in 60 days....worst case you just get the 25% off.

Can anyone explain the live.com thing. Do I have to add items from live.com, or just use their link to DD before buying stuff? I could have saved 100s of dollars this way over the years if I had known about it.

Great news! Can't wait for this Friday. With the additional 5% off, I think I can buy one more DVD than I had planned.

I placed several orders through the Live Cashback links in August/September, including the B1G1 on the Twilight Zone Complete set. I haven't gotten any cashback yet. I did send an e-mail to customer service and they are investigating. I'm not saying don't sign up and use their links...just be aware it might not be a slam-dunk for collecting. --Peter

Under the store listing at live.com, click the "go to store" button for Deep Discount. You'll get taken to a page where you sign into your live.com account before it directs you to Deep Discount, and shop as usual.

So DVDPlanet is going to be running the discount on the same dates?

Any chance this will be extended like most years although the range of dates is already longer?

I truly will never understand the need for sarcasm and smart ass remarks on the boards. Some people don't have time to read every single post before replying.

If people would read the first post advertising the sale, there would be significantly fewer posts to read in the first place. Experiencing a problem with a code seems like a pretty good time to review the sale terms.

I've updated the FAQ to reflect the new 25% off information and the corresponding sale amongst the other sites.

Once again I'd like to remind people that this thread is not for people wanting to talk about things like "I wonder if they'll raise their prices before the sale." This is supposed to be an informational thread, not a conspiracy-theory bitch-fest.
