I seem to be the only one finding stuff here anymore. Or maybe I'm the only one looking I found some good stuff today at the one by my Doctor's office in Lakewood, CA.

Also, they had booze there. First time I've ever seen alcohol at a 99 Cent Only store. They had Wine, Wine Coolers and Hard Apple Cider. All cost 2 or 3 dollars. I bought the Apple Martini Cocktail ($2) and a bottle of wine ($3) just for the oddness of it.

Years ago the would have bottles of wine for 99 cents. That was before they were carrying items that cost more.

Even the 99cents is a misnomer now. Everything is $1 on the receipt unless otherwise specified.

Yeah, they get some great gag(pun intended) gift bottles in there. A nice screw on cap of wine used to seem funny to me until I saw that they had plastic bottles of wine. Not to mention the unusual beers.

A buddy of mine just called me and said that the store on his side of town has a display with live action Disney movies for .99. He also said there were season sets of Home Improvement.

Was just at mine yesterday and no Disney or TV sets. They did have a Behind the Planet of the Apes 2 DVD set that I picked up though.

Just went a took a look for myself and they had seasons 3, 4 & 5 of Home Improvement, the Santa Clause, Cheetah, the Three Caballeros, the Las Flight of Noah's Ark, Spider-Man vs. Doc Ock, 8 Below, Rescue of the Castaways and a musical type thing with Deborah Walley that I can't remember the name of.

At my store, these new dvds were priced $1.29. Still a good deal, but I passed because I have no interest in these shows and probably wouldn't watch them. They would just clutter my already filled shelves.

Yeah, I picked up 3 of them and they had the $1.29 stickers on them but they rang up .99 cents.

Went to three stores; only two of them had the new arrivals.

Took home S6 of "Scrubs".

I saw "Grey's Anatomy" S1; "Scrubs" S1, S2, S3 (with slipcover) and S6; "The Golden Girls" S5 and various seasons of "Home Improvement". As well as "Lost" S4 Blu-Ray.

"The Alamo" remake, "Cold Creek Manor", "The Haunted Mansion" and "The Village".

I was hoping to find seasons 7 - 9 of "Scrubs", no such luck.

Got Home Improvement seasons 3, 4 and 5, and Lost Season 4 on Blu-Ray- For $1.29 each. (At the store on Stockton Blvd in Sacramento, checked a few of their other stores and they didn't have them.) The Alamo was only Foolscreen so of course didn't buy that- want to see that movie someday though just to see what setting a big pile of money on fire looks like!

As a Cheap Bastard, seeing stuff priced at $1.29 at 99 Cents Only Stores is the most devastating thing I've seen since the day 98 Cents Clearance Centers became Dollar Tree, thus raising their prices a whole 2 cents!

Mine finally got some TV seasons. Unfortunately they were all Home Improvement Season 3.

Mine also had a Disney DVD which surprised me. Eight Below with Paul Walker. I'm used to only Warner and Lionsgate stuff showing up there from the major studios. The rest is usually Screen Media/Various independent label stuff.

I am in Long Beach, CA. I went again today to pick up some bread and milk and found they had completely restocked their DVD section (the one in Signal Hill). I found:

Lost: Season 1 (Blu Ray, got the last one)
Golden Girls Season 5
Scrubs Seasons 1-3 and 6
Haunted Mansion


They also had a couple Touchstone movies like Enemy of the State but I skipped them. I only bought Haunted Mansion for the DMR points and it didn't even have any in it like Eight Below did.

Last flight Noah's ark had points, In Search of the Castaways did not.

They had 2 different editions of season 1- the original in a clear plastic sleeve, and the reissue in a regular keepcase. Only slipcovers I saw were on seasons 2 and 3, both were unsealed and had that $1.29 price tag stuck right on them. I just bought season 1 in the original packaging.

2 and 6 had slipcovers at the store I went to. Could have been more but I don't collect them so I didn't hunt them down. Those 2 have slipcovers on the ones I bought though.

Yup, the re-release of season one did originally come with a slipcover. Too bad 99 Cent Only doesn't include it.
