Redbox free rental codes thread: Mondays, some Wednesdays, others

I have not been able to get the Monday code to work for the last 2 weeks. I just shot off a quick email. I'm new to redbox and received my FREE code for signing up. After my Monday code wouldn't work last week, I tried my FREE email code and it didn't work either. Is this a common problem? After 3 weeks, I'm 1 for 4 on promo codes

It worked for me with two different credit cards. I did notice something that I believe began with the new billing system: it wouldn't recognize my debit card. Only credit. Can someone else confirm this or was it just the machine that I was at had a faulty card reader? The machine nearest home doesn't have a functioning "1" touchkey; and perhaps this other machine nearest a gym I'm going to start going to Monday morning has a faulty CC reader. Redbox® needs to fix their junk so we can continue conveniently renting dvds for free.

Come to think of it, I had to swipe my debit card about 4 times before it was accepted. Not sure if it decided to charge as credit with the 4th swipe, though.

I didn't have any problems using the code or my bank card tonight, although the machine was slow to process both.

Finally got through to someone on the phone, sounds as if my Redbox was having difficulty connecting online, thus it couldn't communicate to verify promo codes. They told me the problem would be fixed shortly and gave me a code that should work anytime in the next 45 days: CRV4HQQ.

Well I stopped at another location after work and the code worked fine. I'm assuming that location must have a communication problem like the previous poster mentioned. Still no response to my email though. I returned the movie I got yesterday to the redbox near work (the one with problems) and tried another using BREAKROOM and it was still having problems.

I tried, 3 times with the Monday code and it finally worked on the 4th time entering and it took forev....er, so they were definitely having problems, just glad no one else was waiting and I was persistant.

Yup... It's definitely a one time use code... I gave this to my brother, he said it was already used. So you screwed the dude and his code!

sorry, I'm sure this has been asked before, but when generally does the new code for monday get emailed out (east coast if redbox is national, I don't know)?

They don't e-mail the Monday only codes, only the special promotional ones (which I haven't seen in awhile).

If you sign up for the codes to be sent to your cell phone via SMS messaging, codes are usually sent between 10:30a.m. to 12:30p.m. EST. Great if you have a redbox near your workplace to get a movie at lunch time.

Damn...went down to what I thought was a Redbox but it was actually a DVDPlay unit. It had a really crappy selection of films.

He should have used it before he posted it....

I didn't know what kind of code it was, I just used it since it was posted here....

Actually, you unintentionally screwed him out of the code. I wasn't saying you purposely used the code knowing he wouldn't be able to use it. Nobody knew if it was a one time use or not. I agree, he should have used it before he posted the code.

Also, I didn't use the code. If you read my comment I posted, I said I gave my brother the code, he used it and told me it didn't work.

Don't worry about it. It was my dumb ass that posted the code. I was unaware they had one time use codes and thought all codes were universal.

No big deal, we all get enough free codes (from singing up initially and Mondays) as it is. No big loss.

I know, I was just joshing. Thanks for the sentiment, but I think I've actually reached the bottom of the redbox. Each Monday, I struggle to come up with something new "worth" renting. Some weeks I leave the box empty handed.

I like the fact that they are adding more and more catalog titles to the boxes, it should help them overall, but as I own so darn much already, it means that the selections I'd be interested in are getting thinner and thinner.
