Target: some 2-Discs & SEs 9.99

Whilst wandering through target, I discovered that they had a number of 2 Disc and SE releases of movies on sale for 9.99. Some were no big deal, some were fairly enticing--I couldn't resist Kinsey myself.

Titles present (SE/CE/2 disc where available):
All That Jazz
Bubba Ho-Tep
Commando
A Fish Called Wanda
The Fly II
Get Shorty
The Graduate
The Great Escape
Guys and Dolls
Hannibal
Hoosiers
Kinsey
Lifeboat
Midnight Cowboy
Misery (think it's the CE..)
Nine to Five
The Omen
Planet of the Apes (original)
Predator
The Producers (original)
Rain Man
Revenge of the Nerds
Ronin
Spaceballs
The Verdict
Wall Street

I know, "Hey, a couple of those have been at Big Lots waaay cheaper!"
Right there with you--got 'em for that much myself!

But a few I don't see on sale often, like Kinsey, and the Verdict, or Midnight Cowboy...Hoosiers recently, but not often...
Anyway, there are more titles there than that, but most are normally found cheaper with no trouble (and are not SEs, to the best of my knowledge)

Spaceballs- is this the 2 disc release? Ive only seen the one disc for sale at my Target. Maybe they will get in some of these 2 discers and I can finally get it for a decent price!

Hm, you may be right, but I thought I saw the 2 disc art (I already have it so I didn't look too closely).

PS: they're all in ugly red-bordered "Premiere Collection" paper o-rings/slipsleeves.

Which is irritating since the Kinsey one was diecut and quite neat...

Although Fry's can't beat the $3 Big Lots price, their everyday price is under $9.99 and these titles sometimes go on sale for $3.99.

Kinsey is the 2-disc addition?! I have never seen this in stores and is NEVER on sale online. I told myself I was done with DVDs for the year after Big Lots, the DD sale, and the Planet of the Apes set but this is one of my most wanted DVDs so I'll have to break my rule.

Just a heads up for those of you with a Pathmark supermarket nearby, I just saw Hooisers 2 Disc for $5.00. Some of those other ones are pretty good deals though, I may have to pick myself up Ronin. Thanks, OP!

I was worried when I bought Kensey and Planet of the Apes that it would have that red border around it. That Premiere Collection cover comes off quite easily.

Just saw these 2 discs at Target today! They are listed as under the Premiere Collection, and come in red packaging. The thing about this is that the packaging is just a slipcover over the regular DVD or just an insert over an existing DVD shrinkwrapped.

Spaceballs is indeed the 2-discer for $9.99, which is a great bargain considering that the one disc is still available at the same price at the same target! Rain Man was $5.

They also have a section called I love the 80's which repackages hit 80's movies into that theme. Its quite ugly and the worse part is they even changed the actual package art to reflect the slipcover.....but it comes with a free CD of some sort.

Great selection in the Premiere Collection DVDs and at great prices! Spaceballs 2 discer is easily 20 and up elsewhere. Of course I picked this up.

It is the 2-Disc at Wal-Mart for $4. At least mine was, and I'm pretty sure it's a nationwide campaign.

My Mart had the 2 disc Spaceballs for $4, the one at Target has the red "Premiere Collection" sleeve instead of the original one. Your tolerance for these sleeves will vary. I bought Misery anyway, but the original had a sleeve that made the cover look more like a book and used the disc art to have Bates peering through the cover. The Premiere Collection isn't as nice, but for $9.99 I guess I can't complain too loud .

There's another collection of "We Loved the 80s (or something like that)" for $7.50 but I didn't catch any of the titles.

Fox Classic Western Collection (The Gunfighter / Rawhide / Garden of Evil)
packaged with Michael Shayne Mysteries, Vol. 1 for 15.99, I think. I was going to check on the price next time I went and post it to make sure it was right since I couldnt find it at Target.com. In the store I was in. It was in the box set/TV show section. I would have bought it but I already have the FCWC.

I've seen the Speed 2-disc edition at a few local Targets. Not bad at all, considering that it is really hard to find. I had to purchase the box set a few years back just to get it.

A word of warning, I picked up The Producers and found that it's actually the 1 disc "Special Edition" and not the 2 disc "Deluxe Edition" pictured on the slipcover.

I emailed Target about this and got a generic letter back. I returned the dvd.

They sold Speed 2-disc in Fry's for like $5.99 last time around the summer.

Same here but it's $5. Original sleve. One store had 10-15 in the dump cabinet.

Also, Kinsey apparently is NOT on sale. There was no tag and it rang up normally priced.

I went and was buying The Full Monty 2-disc and The Fly II 2-disc. Full Monty rang up 7.50 and the Fly2 rang up 9.99. I took the electronics department cashier over and the Fly2 had the original sticker price of 9.99 on it. The Full Monty the same. The guy was convince that there was a price error, he rang up both for 7.50 each.

This looks like a killer deal! I might pick this up when I'm done watching horror flicks at the end of this month.
