Re: Barnes And Noble Coupon Thread Part 2

They didn't let me combine with the B2G1 sale so I used both the member and nonmember 50% off coupons to get:

Big Love S4 for $21.59+tax and Caprica S1.5 for $20.24+tax.

I also want Merlin S2, Buried BD and Saw 7 BD (otherwise I'm really caught up) so I'll try for two of them tomorrow at the B&N on the other side of town.

Laser, will they be able to see that I used the coupons already and tell me I can't do it tomorrow?

They have no way to track coupon use in-store, however you could get the same cashier who might remember you (it has happened to me).

Thanks. That won't happen tomorrow as I'm going to a different B&N.

I've never had any problems using store coupons over and over but it is a huge ymmv depending on the store you visit.

I went this morning right when they opened and then went back at 6, but the same cashier was working and I didn't bother trying with her as I knew she wouldn't let me use it again. Might go back in a few hours since I live like 5 minutes away, lol. Definitely going a few more times before the sale is up.

Re: Barnes And Noble Coupon Thread Part 2

I'm trying to contain myself as the coupon works on books and CDs too....

I don't receive coupons at the account linked to my membership but I received an email coupon to an address not even registered at B&N. I had to create an account to see how much discount I would get. It was only 20%.

I never received any coupons for my member account either using the link. Looks like it is useless. Did it work for anyone?

Nothing for me on that front.

Unfortunately the nearest B&N store is a good 45 minutes away. I'm gonna try and get to one either tomorrow evening or Saturday, but I highly doubt they'll be carrying the item I wanted to use the 50% off coupon on.

Gary "thanks again for the info, everyone" O.

You can check online to see if the item you want is in stock before you make the trip.

Probably a stupid question, but can you (or someone) explain how to do it?

Gary "thanks" O.

Re: Barnes And Noble Coupon Thread Part 2

Search for the product you want and then go to its page. Once there, look on the right for a button that says "Find In-Store" and type in your zipcode and click the button. It will locate the stores closest to you and tell you whether the item is in stock or not.

This coupon just hit slickdeals a few hours ago. I wonder if BN will try something like this again.

Great. How many deals have the crazies on Slickdeals ruined over the years?

Re: Barnes And Noble Coupon Thread Part 2

I was able to use both 50% coupons with B2G1F on the same transaction. The clerk was hesitant at first, saying only one coupon per transaction. But I told her I've never had a problem doing it in the past, as long as the coupons are different. She said she'd try it, and it worked. With my member discount, I got Robinson Crusoe on Mars BD, Sherlock S1 BD, and Broadcast News BD for $34 total! It's actually better than the Criterion sale with $5 coupon!

Re: Barnes And Noble Coupon Thread Part 2

Lol, wow, I didn't even think about trying to use both different 50% off coupons. That's balls, my friend. I used the 50% off Member coupon, the $5 off a DVD coupon, the $5 off $50 coupon, and the member discount, and got "The Exorcist," "Se7en," and "Bridge on the River Kwai" Blu-rays for $39.46 total. $13.15 each isn't bad.

Please post ideas of what Blu-rays to use this on also. I'd love to hear other peoples' ideas.

Re: Barnes And Noble Coupon Thread Part 2

I was able to use a 50% and 30% coupon along with the B2G1 free, and I did three separate orders. I didn't risk it with the double 50% coupons (congrats ken!), but I did buy a membership to get the extra discount. I got

Hamlet (book)
Exorcist (book)
King Kong (book)
Rocky Horror Picture Show (book)
Batman (book)
Videodrome Criterion
American Beauty
Once Upon a Time in America
Raging Bull SE

all for about $108 after taxes plus the $25 for membership. I saved about $10, so I figured it was worth it for around $15 for the next year.

Re: Barnes And Noble Coupon Thread Part 2

Used it twice for Cronos and Broadcast News. What I should have done was check whether or not I could have used it for a couple of Blurays already on sale--Lost in Translation was an extra 20% off list price and Love Actually was 30% off MSRP. I'm pretty sure after the 50% off coupon they would have been $10 or under for each title.

I got the Criterions for $16.92 each as they didn't let me get the 1 free with my transactions.

Re: Barnes And Noble Coupon Thread Part 2

This is genius. I'm going to try my hand at this in store tomorrow, hopefully they didn't kill the coupons and get wise to it all. Shame the 50% off isn't good online. Now THAT would be the deal of the year.

Re: Barnes And Noble Coupon Thread Part 2

Round 2:

Delicatessen (blu) - $35.99
The Stieg Larsson Trilogy (blu) - $33.05
Death Note Collection (blu) - free

Total (after tax) = $75

I don't have a membership, but I basically got the membership discount since everything was ship-to-home.
