Yeah, that looks like a good price for Dracula. It's $10 at Best Buy (not sure if that's a sale price) and $10.75 at Buy.com. So unless you can use Google Checkout, this is a good price.

I love DD's typically garbled or unintelligible synopsis. Here's a particularly useless quote from the one for Here Comes Mr. Jordan:
"Voyager laserdisc features a second audio track with commentary by star Robert Montgomery's daughter, Elizabeth Montgomery, who discusses the film, her father, and her own career.Available to buy in the UK." Of course, the actual dvd - you know, the thing they're selling - has no special features at all. Last edited by NoirFan; 04-21-08 at 03:49 PM. |

"Crumb" and "The Triplets of Belleville" for $6.38 each is mighty tempting.

Some of those are well priced... I'd suggest for others to pick up Following - which is Christopher Nolan's first film. I think it's an excellent film and for $6 it is a must own IMHO.
Paul Thomas Anderson's Hard Eight is also only $6.38. I might have to place an order.

I thought perhaps I could pick up all of the normally overpriced Sony/CTS Humphrey Bogart titles I still don't have. But Dead Reckoning, Tokyo Joe, and Sirocco aren't there. The Harder They Fall and Sahara aren't included either, but I already have them. It looks like only In a Lonely Place is included in this sale, so I may get that one.
I just don't understand how Warner or Fox can regularly sell classic titles like this for under $10 (and sometimes half that in box sets) but Sony keeps the MSRP on them so high. They're out of touch with the market if you ask me. I'll just keep passing them by in favor of stuff from the other studios until I see a reasonable sale price. Damn! I have got to pull my weight around here and start posting good sales like this one. I picked up Baron Munchausen, Hard Eight, and Following (based on your reccommendations, but I really do love Nolan). Was Following made 1:33 aspect ratio? I'm asking because the DVD only states: Full Frame.

Why the heck is Brainscan not included? Its 20.99 at DDD and has been out for years and on-line prices have always been high.
I did order In a Loney Place and Bunny Lake is Missing. |

Im holding off on Dracula I think, with a $20 MSRP I dont think thats a tremendous deal and its above my average price per dvd. But Hard Eight looks like a good deal at $6.38, never even heard of it, but I like the director's other work, boogie nights and magnolia was decent. How come I cant find hard eight on imdb?
Edit- I found it under sydney Last edited by Jacoby Ellsbury; 04-21-08 at 10:21 PM. |

^Hard Eight is a fantastic film. And the DVD has two very entertaining commentary tracks. Amazing deal on this film. I pad $20 for it and found t to be worth it.
