I've been buying lots of used DVDs from the two stores in my area. This seems to be pretty much the same type of deals, only the prices seem to be lower. Most of the $5.95 DVDs on the site are still $7.95 in the stores, most of the $7.95 DVDs are still $9.95 in the stores, etc...

In store they have a "buy 3 $7.95 DVDs and get them for $21", but with the $5 online coupon it seems to even out.

I just may have to try this online and save a trip to the store. I hope they're in as great condition online as they are in store.

Not sure if it's stackable, but here's a free shipping coupon: VD7GZUDR

'Course .99 shipping is pretty reasonable anyway.

Free shipping comes up as invalid or expired and knocked out the $5 off coupon.

My order:

1 x Mighty Heart DVD (USED) $5.95
1 x Ratatouille Widescreen DVD (USED) $5.95
1 x Resident Evil: Extinction DVD (USED) $5.95
1 x War Widescreen DVD (USED) $5.95
1 x Shoot 'Em Up DVD (USED) $5.95
1 x Hairspray Widescreen DVD (USED) $5.95
1 x Rescue Dawn DVD (USED) $5.95
1 x 3:10 to Yuma Widescreen DVD (USED) $5.95
1 x Sunshine DVD (USED) $5.95

Sub-Total: $53.55
99¢ Shipping (5-10 business days; USPS): $0.99
Coupon Discount: -$5.00
Total: $49.54

I usually wait for titles to hit the 4/$20 bins at HWV or BBV, so it would cost (w/tax) $47.70 to buy locally, but who knows how long it would take for this basket to become available? 20 cents more per disc is acceptable.

Thanks to the OP!

Like I said, if the condition of the used DVDs on the site are anywhere near as great as the used DVDs in the actual stores, you'll all be very happy.

I often get resurfaced disks from wherehouse and secondspin. That doesnt seem to stop people from buying from them.

Already got an email that my order has shipped. I wonder how long it will actually take to arrive?

If it's anything like buying new stuff, it shouldn't take long. I usually get my Family Video orders in 3-5 days or so. I know it sounds like I'm just bragging about the company, but I've dealt with them quite a few times, both online and in the stores.

I think I've ordered about 12-15 used titles from them on eBay in the past. I had no complaints. All came with artwork and case. Not sure about inserts, but probably. I think some of the discs had a ring around the center (small - not covering any artwork) and managed to remove them, but that was it. I ordered used discs last night and used the $5 off coupon. I think in the past it took maybe about a week to receive an order, but that was 1-2 at a time, that came via the post office. Don't know if they're going to use the post office or UPS, even if you select .99 cent shipping, they may choose whichever costs them less possibly.

Whoever is in charge of their shipping needs to be sacked before they bankrupt the company. I've been getting a stream of confusing e-mails listing what has been invoiced and shipped and today's post brought an envelope with $1.81 in postage containing only Sunshine and another polybag wrapper with 3:10 to Yuma, Mighty Heart, and RE:E with $2.83 in postage. So far, they've spent $4.64 on less than half my order!

Other than a 3/4" sq. sticker on the case front and a small ring on the disc hub, everything looks like retail. The RE case was slightly cracked, but it had the ad insert. The discs look really clean. I was in BBV last night and most of the titles FV is selling for $5.95 are still $14.99, so I'm going to continue to patronize FV.com in the future, fo' sho'!

quoted for truth.. I placed an order for about 10 discs, and received 5 confusing emails... I haven't actually gotten the discs themselves, but their shipping is a bit rediculous!

Considering I order on a Thursday and half have arrived by the following Monday, I've got few complaints, but I would rather they wait a couple days to send the whole kit and kaboodle out in one box and save the postage as long as it allowed them to keep their prices down. Amazon does it that way.

I got two of the ten yesterday I ordered, each in it's own unpadded envelope. They were fine, but each was shipped for $2 something in postage. If this continues, they'll have spent $20+ in postage. I think they need to update their system.

it's the launch of a new service.. maybe they are just overdoing it at first... ? yeah, its a bit odd.. evidently the 10 discs I ordered are coming in 6 different packages.

How are the used discs any different than new? I don't know, but someone could buy 3 new titles and they may very well do the same thing by shipping them individually. I think they've always sold a very select few used discs, and only recently I guess expanded to what they have now. I got 6 different "ship" emails so I guess I have 6 different packages coming too.

Received each movie in 3 seperate mailers. Two were in a bag mailer and the other movie was in a bubble mailer. All are in great condition. Cases are broken and chipped in areas.

Now to watch some movies

Also is anyone is interested I see they added The Mist. Reduced the price of I am Legend and Enchanted from $9.95 to $7.95.
