in a word, yes it did.

'Old Men' does have a sale price (MSRP is $34.99), but not a loss leader price, as you noted. $29.99 is about $23 in 1999 dollars, which is about what new releases on DVD were in the B&M stores at that time if my memory serves me. and 1999 to DVD is 2008 to Blu-ray in terms of how far into the lifecycle it is.

i'd like to see the first-week pricing of BDs come down as much as you, but where they are at right now is not all that unexpected.

I haven't seen Bee Movie, but, I'm a sucker for these type of films. Plus, they are actually releasing a 2-Disc set, so, I may buy that.
