(DEAD) Alien Quadrilogy @ Amazon $20.49

Hi All! This has been sitting in my cart for months. I happened to notice today that is was $20.49. Picked up a copy finally!

Hurry on this. Not sure how long it will last at that price. I wasn't sure if I could post a link to amazon so just do search for Alien in dvd and it should come right up! Enjoy! Happy Thanksgiving!

Probably worth it's own thread, but this is being discussed in the Amazon Black Friday thread. Terrific deal.

Is this a good buy even if you have zero interest in the 3rd and 4th films?

I like Alien, I loved Aliens, but in my world, the 3rd and 4th films don't exist.

in that it includes the two movies and 7 bonus discs of material, I'd say so!

I'd love to jump on this, but I already paid $15+ for each of the four 2-disk sets.

thanks! Just got this and 24 Season 5 for $15 for a total of $35. This saves me a trip to Targets at 6am to get 24 S5 and a great bargain on the alien series!

I ordered this tonight (mentioned it in the Amazon thread, too), but I just have to say how excited I am to watch these again. It's been a long time since I've seen any of them, and certainly a long time since seeing them uncut. I remember CBS running Aliens with the extra scenes, and I'm curious to see this Alien3 alternative version.

Yes, it's cheaper than what you'd pay for the Alien and Aliens 2-disc sets on their own, and it comes with a bonus disc not available in the stand-alones.

Plus, even if you don't like Alien^3 you should watch the documentary, in which pretty much everyone involved acknowledges that the film sucks and explains what went wrong. It's actually quite fascinating. There's also an alternate cut of the film (indeed, of all the films) that, while still not a great movie, is a major improvement.

Return that one back when it comes and order one from Amazon. Or if you've opened it up, order a new one from Amazon and send the new one back to Deepdiscount.
I used these tactics to solve a dilemma when I broke down and bought Escape from Alcatraz for $14.99 and subsequently found one at Wal Mart for $5.50. I'm sure someone is going to tell me how morally corrupt this is, but it also isn't fair getting stiffed when there is a better price to be found.

oh my god, if you have to even ask that question, i worry about you. It's $20.00 bucks for what 5-6 films? Considering you can't even buy one for under $10 bucks, I don't think you'd be out that much.

I sent DD an email for price match. This is the only price match I've done with them in the years I've ordered from them, so I hope they do it.

Finally hit the sweet spot. I've actually never seen any of the Alien films- almost bought the first one a while back. Glad to be able to check 'em out at this price.

Man I am so tempted to pick this up but I've really curbtailed my SDVD spending since I started buying BD and Hd-dvd. I would hate to buy this set and then have Fox release them on BD next year or so.
