Target Transformers Exclusive

Hey guys,
Just got back from my local Target and got the scoop on their exclusives for Transformers on the 16th. They will have an exclusive comic book that will come with both the single and two disc editions. The other part is I think what a lot of us want. The 2-disc set will come in a transforming case and will transform into a 15" Optimus Prime. The guy explained it as kind of like the gift card they had when the movie came out. He didn't know the price (I guess the ad will be out soon) but he said he expects a good price on all 3 versions (including HD).

The CASE will transform into Prime? Sounds either unlikely or crappy.

I saw pictures of it on a collecting board weeks ago because Australia was reported to be getting it as an exclusive as well. It looked similar to those transforming paper robots you can find designs for on the web. Here is a picture from an Australian pre-order page:

http://www.ezydvd.com.au/item.zml/795761

As you can see the robot kind of slips out of the clear plastic case and expands and unfolds. I can't remember if it can fold into anything resembling a truck.

My attitude to this packaging is that if you really want something that looks like Optimus Prime and transforms, buy one of the Hasbro toys.

There's a thread in Dvd discussion that has brighter picture of that and talk about all the various versions.

Transformers --> Oct. 16th!

Still going with FYE's steelbook and BB's giftset. If the BB one is not so hot, then it's Walmart's version with the animated disc. ^^V

If the WM bonus disc is deemed crappy, I'll probably get this goofy transforming case. Why not, it's all in goofy fun - like the movie itself!

Looks kinda cool. So far the CC ex. seems not so good, Wal-mart is still unsure and BB's toys look pretty bad. I'll probably end up getting this one assuming the price is right. I might try to snag a FYE steelbook, but something tells me those will all be nabbed up by preorders.

FAO Schwarz should sell the DVD with an exclusive diamond-encrusted platinum Transformer figurine. They'd be sure to sell at least one.
