hey speedy, long time lurker. Nice to see you back after the whole PS3 finasco. Have you ever thought of just scanning the ads? I'm sure I would save you a lot of time. I'll probably pick up the Die Hard Set. If best buy has it in there ad they have to sell it for that price right?

Thanks Speedy on the heads up for the price drop on the PS3.

Bought the TV bundle a couple weeks back with the PS3 that dropped $400 off the price of the $599 PS3.

Now with the price match, I got the PS3 for $99.99 and then with the new receipt for price match today, I also can use it to hopefully get in on the 5 free Blu-Ray deal.

I do blieve that if I scanned the entire ad that I would bring the wrath of the Big 3 retailers down upon my head.

As pointed out in the "Speedy1961 is in Gamespot News" thread, by hand typing out the ads I am afforded some degree of protection.

If I scanned the ads and was issued a cease and desist order (which would take me out of the game), that end result would help none of us.

Someday I'll have my own scanner up & running but I'm doing fine without it.

Your assumption on the Best Buy Die Hard set is correct. However, if the post in store signs stating that the item was incorrect in the ad, you may get shut out.

My advice: either pre-buy now and price adjust later or act quickly on the 15th.

Thanks for reading.

While I am seeing much more price movement on MP3 players at Circuit City than Best Buy, I'll need you to further define what you're interested in.

You can define it by storage size (2 GB / 4 GB / 6 GB / 30 GB) or by top price you're willing to pay.

Then I can assist you better.

Thanks.

Speedy, I am mainly looking at Creative V plus (4 or 8 gig), Sansa (4 or 8 gig), but if there is a good deal on a Zune or Creative Vision M, then I would make the reach. Thanks. I know that CC has some deals this week, just wanted to see if there might be anything better next week.

I doubt it.
If you go to www.bestbuy.com right now, they have the 1D selling for 9.99 and the 2D SE selling for 24.99. I expect it's just a price reduction from 9.99 to 7.50, but I'll check anyway.

You might spend some time reading the 100's of posts that follow. Initially folks were having widespread success on using the $10 off coupons in addition to low sale prices. Later, however, most Best Buys were cracking down and it became very much YMMV
So basically if you go to NO-BUY in Fullerton, there is NO way they will let you use the coupon. Bummer

I think all the ones with the movie cash are standard sized boxes with no head configurations.

And Best Buy has the non-Homer head version of S6 now? Definitely will be looking at picking this up..

Buy.com appears to have all the seasons with movie cash. Does Best Buy really only have it for S9?

That's what the ad says but CC will have it on ALL 9 seasons next week (7/22 - 7/28).

Best Buy store may have it that way too but it may vary from store to store.

^^I just looked on bestbuy.com, and although the prices listed reflect those for this week, most of the sets listed have "(With Movie Money Cash)" in the title (including non-Homer head S6 box). Awesome .

JUST A NOTE ON THE DIE HARD COLLECTION ADVERTISED THIS WEEK WITH THE MOVIE MONEY, IT APPEARS TO HAVE ALL 3 DISC #1'S FROM THE 5-STAR COLLECTION BOX SET PLUS A 4TH ALL NEW BONUS DISC CONTAINING:Yippee Ki Yay bonus disc exclusive content: Wrong Guy, Wrong Place, Wrong Time - A Look Back at Die Hard documentary; The Continuing Adventures of John McClane featurette; Live Free or Die Hard teaser trailer. I'M THINKING POSSIBLE DOUBLE DIP ON ANOTHER DIE HARD BOXSET, IF I CAN GET IT FOR $7.50 OR PM IT ELSEWHERE.

So is this Die Hard Collection thing going to work? I tried to do the Pink Panther collection thing last year and it didn't go so well.

If you go to Best Buy's website and type in "Die Hard" it displays all three single-disc movies as "on sale" for $7.50. It lists the collection at its normal price at like $35.
