So question - if I placed an order for three DVDs for $53.xx and used a $5 coupon and got free shipping - and then two DVDs were canceled, leaving me only with a preorder for Robocop Steelbook, how much am I going to get charged? Full price of Robocop plus shipping?

Because I can. And because it's true. If they decide to take it down, you'll only have to wait a few more days until it's up and running properly again (although when I just tried it, it still worked).

As at least one other member here has noted, it's still helpful, even if you don't send in any discs, which I haven't. As I mentioned, I don't plan to "test" it when I'm not supposed to. If anyone else wants to risk it, that's up to them. I have a lot of discs that I hope to unload in small batches this fall or winter when the service is officially back up and running, and I like the fact that I can still see their pricing for those titles and decide which ones are worth sending in and which have dropped too much in value to bother, such as the previous James Bond special editions.

Thanks for sharing the link! I am using the new prices to determine what is worth selling versus giving away. You have provided a valuable service for facilitating this process!

Hey Guys,

Prices are not even remotely close to what they will be when we relaunch QM. I have not even repriced anything at this point...

Any quotes submitted will not be accepted until we relaunch Quote Machine.

The coupon would not be on the order if total order drops below the threshold.

Which is precisely why I haven't sent in a package since the QM was "taken down," and why I've subtly suggested others should probably wait too. There's no rush, obviously. But I'm also willing to bet that some of the price drops I've noticed (and there's been a lot) will remain after your relaunch. But I suppose we'll see...

Mark you guys at DVDPlanet have GOT to stop using those horrible yellow envelopes for shipping DVDs! People on the Criterion board have been logging daily horror stories of ruined DVDs due to you switching from the sturdy boxes to horrible horrible no good yellow padded envelopes.

Is this the case with few DVDs or for all shipping? Because I don't want to have my DVDs smashed into pulp during the transatlantic journey!

Mark,

I will pay $1.00 extra to have my DVDs shipped in a sturdy box! At least, give us this option on the order form! The so-called padded envelopes do not work when a larger box falls on top of the envelope and crushes the contents. For those of us who live over 2,000 miles from your warehouse, a study box for shipping is a must-have! Thanx for reading this appeal!

Who needs to reread what was said? Me, I assume? If so, I'm not sure I understand. I've certainly taken efforts to suggest, in previous posts, that I'm well aware that nothing is written in stone during these few weeks the service is unavailable, and others should be too. Nonetheless, I can't see a company paying employees to lower prices temporarily in an attempt to misdirect the handful of people (if any) who knew the original link still worked—what would be the point, since few (if any) were going to risk sending in packages (and probably wouldn't even get that far in the system)? I found some price drops, and I said I suspect they will stay in place when the service relaunces, but obviously I don't know for sure. Some of them are titles that are not exactly in demand anymore, or have been reissued in better versions since the last time DVDPlanet updated their used prices, so I can understand the company not wanting to pay what they used to, and those are the titles I suspect will not be going back up. Still, it's nice that one can still keep tabs on a particular title if one chooses.

I've never had DVDPlanet ship a DVD in an envelope - they're always shipped in cardboard boxes, including one I received yesterday. And I always choose the free shipping.

Mark,

Why is wellspring's Kings and Queen more expensive than retail?

Don't know about overseas, but it looks like anything continental US doesn't
have a one or two disc cap. I received 4 box sets (some TV and Eclipse 5) in
the awful envelope packaging. Top and bottom boxes were ruined (the envelope
provides no protection from hits the package takes along the way) and the ones
in the middle had indentations from the ones on top and bottom. Dreadful.

That is totally unacceptable. Will you be demanding a 100% refund? I would rather pay full retail than buy discounted DVDs whose cases/boxes are crushed to hell!

I ordered some HD-DVDs (including the rather expensive Heroes box), only to have them delivered in the ultra-thin UPS envelope. This is weak.

They are way behind in updating. Still have listed the Paramount Blu-Ray Preorder titles that have been cancelled.

If they've heard so many complaints, why is this still going on?

Was about to order some stuff. I think I will hold off until this is resolved. I hate crushed cases.

Not liking the sound of these envelopes. Think I'll wait, too.
