Also it appears they have stopped accepting Paypal as a payment method.
Paypal has a plugin for IE where even if a vendor doesnt take Paypal you can still use it.

I wouldn't worry about it so much. I've been selling used DVDs to them for several years... and I've had cases where it take about a month for credit to appear.

Since they've switched to their new website / seem to have stopped *selling* used DVDs.... I have been getting my credit a bit faster though, usually on the order of 2 weeks or so.

^ True story. 11 days? This is DVD Planet, not Second Spin. Quickest turnaround I had was around 13 or 14 days total. Longest was three and a half weeks.

Just used SEP10 for $10 off $120. Just replaced SEP for last month's AUG coupons. So it accepts SEP15 for $15 off $175 as well. Not much, but something if you want to get in pre-orders for the 9/9 Blu-Rays that they finally put up: Kill Bill 1&2, The Fall, Rudy, etc.\

P.S. This is my first DVDTalk post in 4.5 years.

Thanks for the heads-up on them updating their Blu-ray pre-orders. It looks like they did a lot of 'catching up' in that regard. I successfully used the SEP52008 coupon, so I assume that all the 'usual suspects' are activated, which would mean these are the September coupons:

SEP52008 $5 OFF $60
SEP10 $10 OFF $120
SEP15 $15 OFF $175

Thanks that makes me relax easier.. I dealt with digitaleyes and Mark in the past and everything went smoothly. But no idea what this merge has brought in the way of reliability. So it is good to hear your comments. I got my return receipt a few days ago and Infinity Resources signed stamped it. I am guessing this company owns dvdplanet. Hopefully i will get my credit by weeks end.

Wow! I'll say they updated the pre-orders. They went from 29 pages of titles in their blu-ray section to 33 pages. Can't wait for my newest batch of store credit to process!

FWIW, I sent a batch of discs in on Monday, August 25th, and received credit yesterday (September 3d.)

Always happens to me. Sometimes I'll send out the same item in my next batch and they accept it. It's like they're told not to accept everything so they turn away stuff to meet quota. Who knows.

Anyone heard when/if they will ever offer used discs again? That part of the site has been empty for months.

Thanks

It may be a bit early, but I have stuff in my cart ready for a code. Is there an October code yet? It says the Sept. Codes aren't good anymore, but OCT52008 and numerous other variants aren't working as of now.

The October variants of the coupon seem to be working now.

Just a question, who has noticed the decline in Dvdplanet since Mark left?

Although I do miss Mark's presence here on DVDTalk, I have not noticed any decline in DVDPlanet and will note that they credit used dvds much faster than they used to.

Just a bump to update those selling to DVDP. An order I sent in last Wednesday (October 8th) via Media Mail was processed and credited to my account this morning (Wednesday, 15th.)

Minnesota's not that far from Illinois, but a one-week turnaround is incredibly quick!

I'm kind of new to ordering from dvdplanet.

Do they have, typically, a smaller selection than the other online sites?

I'm noticing they don't have any listing for Tropic Thunder BD (I don't think the SD either), they don't have Wanted BD (SD either) or the X-Files Fight the Future or I Want To Believe (yes on this one for SD) and others like Into the Wild BD and the Stranger than Fiction SE and the Dark Knight.

Is this company just hit or miss with upcoming releases, because these are titles in 2009 or something, 1 is in less than a month, and others are in early December (6 weeks)? They do have some BD pre-orders for Nov. and Dec listed, which is why I'm prompted to ask if they don't carry as many titles as the other stores, because everywhere else these titles are listed and have been for a while.

It's not that they have a smaller selection it's just that they're pretty slow to update their listings for new releases. For example, they still don't have the blu-ray version of Sleeping Beauty up for order yet.

I changed Paul's code to OCT15 and it worked on a large order. Thank you.
