Is it just me or is their used DVD section down? I haven't been able to access it since the 20% sale ended.
Thanks for the help.

EDIT: As of 7/12/07, I can now browse through their used DVD section again.

I vaguely recall drunkenly bitching about that in an extremely hostile manner, but I was hoping it was a dream.

Warner Brothers will not allow 300 to be presold until 7/3/07 in their infinite wisdom. We will list it as soon as we are allowed.

It's been over 5 weeks. I'm really starting to get pissed. I don't know if I should contact Mark or what.

Of course you should, Karina! I have never hesitated in the past to inquire about the status of trade-ins, and they've always been helpful in reply, generally having the credit available shortly after.

I've called like three times though and they just tell me to keep waiting. I don't want to be told that again or I'll be a frustrated lad!

It seems that their customer service is lacking outside of contacting Mark unfortunately. If only he could train the rest of their CSRs.

Try posting in the DVDPlanet thread in the store forum.

I sent in about 50 DVDs 2 months ago and got my credit around 2 weeks ago. Yeah, I'd expect to be waiting a little bit longer...

The problem is their customer service line is located in a different location than the facility where they review/accept your DVDs. At least that was how it was explained to me...

Yeah, when I called today, the lady said she had to talk to her "higher ups" which meant she was of no customer service, which defeats the purpose.

I should be getting an email "early next week" from them in response though.

I want my Emmanuelle Beart collection, dammit.

I guess that explains our different experiences: I've never bothered to actually call Planet's customer service number, instead simply replying to the initial Quote Machine e-mail if I've got any questions. That e-mail goes directly to Mark and contains all the info you might need (quote number, discs submitted, etc.) to get a proper answer and quickly to boot.

Finally updated on the trade-ins. Didn't accept $30 of my dvds.

Are they just going to mail them back or what?

They usually just mail them back to you.

I know this isn't necessarily the correct thread, but since we are on the topic, how long did it finally take to get your credit? I am waiting to be credited and according to my tracking confirmation, my package arrived on June 27. That makes it a little over three weeks. I have emailed Mark on two separate occasions, but have not heard back anything yet...it's getting a bit irritating. Or am I just really impatient. I just want to know the status...

Well my package arrived on June 9th and got credited on July 20th. This was also after calling four different people and emailing Mark twice (without ever receiving a response). I'm going to choose somewhere else to trade in credit next time.

Thanks. Well I guess I haven't waited long enough and there is still hope...

HOWEVER, they rejected one of my discs on June 2. After multiple emails (Wait 2
or 3 weeks, etc, etc) they finally admitted today that they send it back via media mail, no tracking, no insurance and if it's lost, I'm out the disc.

OH...and they don't tell you WHY they don't want it.

Judging by the time I sent two batches in, it appears they get a great many used discs. I'm thinking of switching over to dvdempre eSellers. I'm getting a lot of hits in the last month and the great thing is, you have the disc and you send it yourself. You are your own customer service

It usually takes them anywhere from 2-8 weeks depending on how many packages they receive.
