Well, this might be the last time I'll order anything from DDD.
I placed ONE order for about $75 worth of books nearly three weeks ago. I discovered today when looking at my bank statement online that DDD broke that one order up into FIVE different shipments and transactions. One of those transactions didn't process until TODAY. All of the books at the time were listed as "in stock."
Of the one box I have received, both books had post-it notes with handwritten numbers on them.
Ridiculous.

I will continue ordering from DDD. But I can't say I'm not disappointed. Stuff happens, and I got some bad luck this time around. I didn't order much, but out of the first part of my order to arrive, 4 out of 5 dvds have to be sent back because they were loose scratched up from broken dvd cases.

I'm still waiting on a DVD that was backordered, but now if you try to order it on their site they say it's no longer available. They haven't cancelled my order, so I wonder if I'll get it. I really want it too. (it's not that big of a title, really. Nobody here would really be interested in it. We're learning different drum rhythms in our dance class & this is a bellydance DVD that is supposed to give tips on dancing to various middle eastern rhythms. )

I must have some bad luck. I ordered two books on June 1st and so far only one book has arrived. The missing book shipped out on the 9th and the one I actually received shipped on the 13th. Hopefully their customer support is good as I have not had any problems before.

The first part of my first order still hadn't shipped. I wrote an e-mail, and they immediately shipped all of the forgotten titles out. I received them very quickly. Unfortunately one of the DVDs I got was in a broken keep-case (cracked in 2 places, like someone tried to open it without opening those 2 security tabs UNIVERSAL loves to put on) and the other was a floater that I can hear inside just scratching up a storm on the hub...
I'm debating weather to go through the hassle of sending back (like a 4 dollar DVD here...) or just opening it and dealing with it.
Apart from that, smooth sailing, and considering I ordered like 500+ worth of titles I was happy.
My only complaint with DD.com is that often the box-sets they send are dented in multiple places. Problem is that other than DVD collectors most people don't give a hoot about that... so if I were to send them back it's entirely likely the replacements would be the same condition. Most of the time I just buy the same title from a local store and return the "dented" copy that's still wrapped. I don't think it's unethical because I find that the average DVD buyer doesn't care about a small dent the box, but it bothers me. Anyone else have this issue? I figure if the store clerk looks at it and sees no problems then I'm not giving them something they can't sell. In most cases I've returned to find the same item on the shelf several days later, and then after a short period of time... it's been sold.
I've had stuff show up and I hand it to my friends and say "Does this look good to you?" and they act like I'm insane about the condition of the box. Maybe it's the collector in me, but most people are like "Um, I'd buy it in this condition..." and then look at me like I'm insane.

Never got my first of two orders. They're sending it again.
If I'd known this was going to happen, I would've gone to a store and paid a few more bucks, rather than wait more than a month.
