The 5 free is from Toshiba and that deal is running till the end of July. It's not a Best Buy promotion. So yes, you get the 5 on top of whatever Best Buy is offering.

Any chance the BR discs will be 2/$50 plus the free ticket?

Is the ticket web only?
Ticket is in store also as I just got one today.

From the stack I saw today in Trumbull, CT, I'd say if there are any around you should be able to pick one up.

Avatar was a no go for me at my BB. The manager said "they just used the same artwork" or some bs like that. Oh well, I may try to to PM at Walmart tomorrow morning around 7am when BB is closed. My walmart always calls especially when the price is like 80% less.

Either way, it was a pretty good weekend. I got a price adjustment on the Shield seasons I bought last week at BB. Came out to a little less than $15 per season. I also picked up 9 $3.99 movies from the CC ad.

Thanks Speedy!

I also was unable to pick up "Avatar" at my Best Buy; however, the manager at my Best Buy claimed that they had just put out the DVD early and were unable to sell any copies until Tuesday. So in his words if I came back Tuesday they would be able to: A) honor the price or B) make up a new excuse.

I tried to price match at "Wal-Mart" but they refused since the description was for a volume not the collection.

The text under my Best Buy ad clearly states that it is a different Avatar title on sale. I'm not surprised that they are refusing the "deal".

Alas, so does mine, but you can't blame us for trying. A deal is a deal, regardless if its they meant to give it to us. After all, it is their mistake.

Big Fish Special Edition is also on sale at Best Buy for $7.99. This the version with the 24-page insert. I picked up the last copy at my local Best Buy.

I don't blame anybody for trying. But the people who are trying multiple times or trying to get another chain to price-match....

Anyone else confirm this?
Just wondering if it's another one of those random clearance deals that are apparently just done at mgmt discretion...

It's actually part of a sale they have online, which is also true for B&M:

$7.99 Sale

and also a $6.99 sale:

$6.99 Sale

Avatar was a no go at my local Wal-Mart. I went at about 1am, i figured their 'sharpest tools' wouldnt be working.

The drop is so big though that its probably not going to fly anywhere. I even had the casheir arguing on my side, but it was still no deal.

Sorry Captain.......

Well, I too succeeded in getting a $44.52 price adjustment..

I had a to wait quite a few minutes as there were a few people ahead of me and of course as soon as I got in line, people starting queueing up behind me (which works in my favor).

I had a pleasant enough clerk named Michael.

I told him that I purchased this set earlier in the week as a present for a little boy and then when I got Sunday's paper, I opened the BB ad and saw what I had purchased for $40 less.

Michael kept eyeballing the ad over and over. He told me that it was a new release. I replied "No" as I had purchased it earlier in the week.

He next stated some b/s about this set having "mini-dvds" inside and that volume III with 5 episodes was one of them. I replied politely "Show me then". He called a girl from the DVD section to try and find a single Avatar that had Volume III, 5 episodes on it. Each and every time she came back with set I had on the counter and said that there was no Volume III.

At this point I had about 10 people behind me and they starting getting vocal about having to wait. They were inadvertantly putting pressure on Michael but he hung in there with me on this.

I then stated that I simply wanted 1 of what was pictured in the ad..... regardless of what the text stated. We both agreed that what was in the ad matched EXACTLY what the set had on the front; namely the Complete Book 1 Collection.

I was about to state my trump card (which I mentioned earlier in this thread) which is that CT. law allows me to buy 1 of what is pictured at the sale price if no signs are posted about the mistake..... when Michael pushed the total key on the register and gave me back $44.52.

I thanked him and told him that he just made a little boy very happy.

Of course this little boy is actually 46 and actually is very happy.

Hahahhaa, I didn't read who posted this until the very end, which made it that much greater a story

Looks like we could price match both Armageddon & King Arthur from CC at $3.99 this week to get them at BB with the POTC movie ticket. Could be a great deal!!

Has anyone succeeded in PMing the 3.99 titles from Circuit City for the movie cash? I'm headed to CC tomorrow morning, so it would be great to see if I can try to stop at BB or not.

Thanks!

Well, I got shot down at my second Best Buy for Avatar. I figured I would give it a chance while at the beach this weekend, but they said no.

So, I know it's late, but if anyone was able to get an extra copy, I have paypal I can send.

On Wednesday, I was at Best Buy getting a present for someone and near the checkouts I saw the 2 disc, Independence Day sat for $5.99 (CDN). I held off thinking there must be another version better but I later learned it was actually a very good set. I've never seen the movie but for that price, I couldn't go wrong. SO I went back Saturday and low and behold, it was back at $22.99. NOOOO!!!

Lesson I learned: Just get it. If need be return it later but just buy the damn thing.
