Quantum Leap Seasons 2-5 - $24.99 each @ Amazon

I don't know if this is part of a larger TV sale, but I figured I'd point it out since these sets have been evading a decent markdown for months (unless you managed to snag them in B&N's recent sale). Season 1 is also available for $19.99.

These prices are lower than they would be during a certain retailer's certain percentage off sale. I'm finishing off my collection with seasons 4/5.

I'm in the same boat with needing Season 4 and 5. I went to the CoinStar change to dump my bucket of change and I got an Amazon gift certificate for just enough to buy both sets.

Thanks for the deal

Thanks for the heads up! Two for the price of one isn't bad. I've been holding off on buying seasons 2-5, so this was perfect.

Of course the R1s of S2 and S3 have much of the original music replaced and the R2s and R4s have the original music. All regions have replacement music in S4 and S1 and S5 all have original music in all regions.

If you can get sets with the original music I don't care how cheap the ones with replacement music are.

I'm going to wait and see if Universal puts out a complete box set. I've gotten burned before with Buffy, Angel and Friends so hopefully there will be a nicely sized complete series set.

Nice find. Has Universal ever put out a complete series, like Buffy or Friends collection?

It's nice to finally see a reasonable price for Quantum Leap seasons.

Now, I just need for Sliders to be reduced in price.

Ah, god. I had no idea. The downside to that is that R2 and R4 are PAL, and PAL speed-up annoys me.

I did some searching for the differences. I wish they could have at least paid for "Georgia On My Mind" for the finale of season 2. That scene always stuck with me—I can't imagine it without that song.

Interesting info, breakfast with girls. Can you elaborate more on this speed-up thing? I was considering purchasing other regions for this set for the sake of the music.

PAL speed up is about 4% (25 frames per second vs. 24). Some people are bothered by it, some aren't. I always go for NTSC (which Japan uses, even though it is R2 and the rest of Asia - R3 - also uses) when I can get it but when a PAL version is superior to any NTSC version, such as in this case with the original music in S2 and S3, I will settle for PAL. I've never noticed it bothering me a lot but some people are more sensitive.

Thanks OP, and movielib. I picked up season 5 to join my season 1. I'll pick up the other region sets of season 2 and 3, and wait and hope for season 4.

Another (relatively minor) difference is that the each R2 set has 6 single-sided discs. The R1 sets have 3 flippers. The only exception is S1 - three single-sided discs for both regions.

I own the complete series now, but I'd happily splurge for a complete "mega-set" if it meant that the Season 4 music was restored. I can't understand why they couldn't get all the music, at least for R2...

ohhhhh, I'm so ticked I missed this sale! I've been wanting to get S2 and on for MONTHS! But this sale came up while I was on vacation and internet-less.

(sigh) That's why we need to check the Bargains Forums EVERYDAY!
