Figures. My order is prepping to be shipped from Amazon. Now I not only have to wait almost a week to receive it, but I'll be spending more to get it.

Man, this is really tempting. I was set on getting the steel book, but may just rent the bonus disc and buy the HD DVD with it this cheap.

I was planning on grabbing the Blu-ray version today, figuring that the combo HD-DVD would be more expensive, but looks like that plan is off now. Just ordered with in-store pickup. I would have thought that the Blu-ray version would have been on sale with the way Best Buy has been pushing the format.

Thanks!!

This is actually a screw up. To get the $5 off (ie down from $27.99 price) you are supposed to buy Infamous with it. Basically its a screw up in the system.

I cancelled with Amazon and ordered this one.

I ordered it as well. Too good of a deal to pass up. Even the Amazon price with 10% off is not this low. Hopefully it won't get cancelled.

It is not a screw up. I just called a local BB and it is the in store price! I'm going to pick up a copy at lunch.

Interesting. I don't have an HD player nor do I suspect I will get one in the near future, but these HD combo discs do sound convenient. If I pick up this one, I guess it'll be an investment for the future....

I think the combo discs are a great idea if the pricing is reasonable (which I think the BB sale pricing of The Departed is fine).

This could pay off if you decide to buy a player when the cheaper players come out (maybe later this year). Having a few of the combo discs will give you a library of HD DVDs to watch day one after getting a player.

I'm very happy with my 360 add-on and love the format.

I honestly had no interest in this movie before now, but I placed and order for it after seeing this thread, plus I see several people in the "what are you getting this week" thread are buying it for Blu-Ray so i figured i would do my part to support HD DVD and pick up a copy.

Got my confirmation so I will go to pick up my copy later. I agree that the combos are a great idea if priced correctly. This is a rare occasion where the price is right.

same here - there were no signs advertising the price, but it rang up at 22.99 - word must be out, they only had 2 copies left

There were none at the Best Buy in Landmark Center, Boston. When I got back to work, I checked inventory online - none of the Boston area stores or Nashua, New Hampshire area said they had any!

Picked mine up at lunch. They had no advertising for the sale and the discs were marked $34.99. I ran into a manager for several stores in the area and he said the sale was a WB push for the release. I only saw a handfull (5 or so) copies in the new release section of the Frisco, TX store.

Only got 3 copies in at one of the local BB, the sale price was advertised on the display

Needless to say, now there are only 2 copies left at the Irving TX store

Like boogieman, I ordered for in-store pickup. The easiest option to assure pricing. Seriously, if HD-DVD discs were all 20-ish, I would be buying them constantly.

Here in Orlando there's a placard in front of the HD-DVD section touting the low price:

("HD-DEPARTED W/ DVD" on placard for $22.99)

There were 4 copies (well, now 3) of the HD-DVD and approx. two million and a half copies of the DVD release at my store.

About the same number of copies for the Blu Ray release... but no placard (which makes me assume, no price break).

Good luck to everyone finding it. No HD copies at my Moviestop, walmart and Best Buy. I saw the $22.99 sign at BB but it was filled with Blu ray copies.

The ocoee bestbuy had 3. I got there at noon and got the last one. Am I blind or is the s on s doc not present on the hd dvd release?! I have yet to check it but it doesn't list it on the cover.

I saw the steelcase and it was beautiful so I ended up buying both. One copy for my house and one for my girls.

No, the doc is missing from both HD versions for some unknown reason. It is not a space issue as both formats could have easily fit it on the disc.

It is a matter for much debate in the HD forum.

So it looks like you can get 5 bucks off this price if you order Infamous as well. How is Infamous?
